Great pics, Tina! Thanks for sharing them. I wish I had remembered my camera.
I agree that it was cool to see Gord S. don a helmet. One thing that got me was during the 1:30 game, when Gord D's team was playing. It began to lightly snow. For some reason, it just seemed to make the whole event that much more special. It reminded me of when I was a teenager and we'd go down to the outdoor rink and watch my brothers and their friends shoot the puck around. I don't know, the snow just seemed to add something to it for me.

I don't know what it is. I guess it's a combo of the sideburns, and the quality and feel of the picture when i blow it up and use it as my desktop.

WOW! Unbelievable event. Props to Kirk Muller and the rest of the gang for organizing. It's not everyday that you get to Gord D, Gord S and Paul Langlois playing some shinny, let alone with stars like Kirk Muller, Dougie Gilmour, and Wendel Clark to name a few. And to top it off, this is the closest we'll come to seeing professional hockey in quite some time. Urggghhh!!!!!
Great hockey, got some autographs (including my Dallas Stars 'Turco' jersey), and froze a little bit too. It was well worth it though!!
I have a couple of little side stories. First, I was dawning my Boston Bruins 'Downie' jersey, while my Turco jersey remained in my friends backpack. About 10 minutes before Dougie and Gord D.'s team was coming onto the ice, this elderly woman came up from behind me, tugged at my jersey and said "Gord" I turned around and thought to myself must be a fan who likes my jersey. Well, actually, it was Gord. D's mom. The next words out of her mouth were: "Geez, you'd think I would recognize my own son from behind" Or something to that effect anyway. It really didn't register in my head until a very few brief moments later, but she had already left. Pretty funny.
And then later on in the day, this woman also tugged at my jersey. I turned around, she smurked at me and said "Ooops, I thought you were my brother" This jersey is certainly paying off in great dividends.
I even had a few local Kingstonites come up to me and ask me for my autograph.
Also got Gord to sign the back of the jersey!
Hope to do this all again next year....but maybe without any professional hockey players being able to attend.
Cheers,
Kevin.

So, I'll assume The Hip didn't play an impromptu song or 2?

Your assumption is correct. But Chris Koster put on a smokin great show, followed up by a chatterin Thornley. All well worth the time out in the Canadian Deep Freeze!!!

You know what this means? This means you are required to post a picture of yourself in this thread. I gotta know how GD's own mother and sister and even some people from Kingston mistaked you for GD.

tth700ft has his height and that is all. Not a look-a-like.
Kingston's Feb Fest -
TTH700FT - 02-23-2005
Here's my explanation:
As Gratts99 mentions, the only thing I really got going for me is my height. And, I think I will refrain from posting any pictures of myself on Hipbase. I wouldn't want to turn this website into a singles dating adventure type of site (jk thipfan73).
Why I do think I was getting all this recognition, however, is not because I look anything like GD, but moreso the fact that walking around in a Downie jersey is quite uncommon so that noone would expect me to be anyone but him (that is at least for the case of mother and sister). Also that the NHLer's and other personalities were sporting their names on their jersey's so perhaps that threw the mother and sister off.
Now, as for the case of the Kingstonites. That's more easily explained. Many of these people aren't really fans of the band, but moreso just recognize the name and so were approaching me for autographs.
Hope this helps!
Cheers,
Kevin.

Ahh ok, I kinda thought it was the height. BTW, I'm in no way interested in dating anyone but my boyfriend I've been with for over three years

I'm still scanning and getting my photos together, I guess it takes longer the older you get, most of the best ones are on actual photos.
In the meantime, here's a web site I found advertised in the local grocery store!!
