well in from buffalo so.......

1. street hockey is played here more than football
2. NFL Football reigns supreme here.(i would think you would need to have a pro team in your city to really understand it)
3. I love hockey just as much as football but i watched an entire NHL season stretch into late June i think, and then the WCOH is just like 2 months later. There was no buildup like in football you have to wait 8 months to see your team play a meaningful game
4. Ive watched about 85% of the games in this world cup. The damn team who scores first wins every game. No lead changes or anything..its been boring.
5. The best games were Fins/Germans, USA/Russia , and USA/Canada....thats not good that the majority of the games in the round robin were crap fests. Round Robin format is pretty stupid as well.

Anywho, to each his own i guess but i know im alot more pumped to be at Ralph Wilson Stadium on Sunday than i am to watch the US battle the Fins tonight.

bauer Wrote:I'm with the hockey fans on here. NFL? Ha, any hockey beats the NFL. The world cup has been some great hockey. How could you not love seeing Mario mess it up a bit. Watching Sakic on Wednesday was pure magic, Joe can play. Hockey takes serious talent, even standing on skates is more than some people can handle, Anyone can play football. Hockey is more a way of life up here. Tons of people play hockey, not to many play football. I think that speaks volumes about the sports. NFL is for people that would rather sit on the couch(sofa) than enjoy the great outdoors. Ya I can hear it now but you know what, I would rather spend my Sundays doing anything but sitting in front of the radiation box for the entire day.

Go Canada Go!

Joe can play? That's the understatement of the decade. You know he's been around for awhile, right?

Enjoy the great outdoors in Canada in the middle of December?

I think the vast majority of Canadians enjoy hockey and the NHL more than the NFL, but guess what - there won't be any hockey this season once the World Cup is done.

There is nothing like the wind in your face as you race down an outdoor rink in the middle of December. Get off your couch dude. Canadian winters are something I embrace not run from. How else can you snowboard with no snow? or icefish with no ice.

Actually this is the first I've heard of Joe Sakic?? What planet are you from? I remember seeing Joe play for Swift Current back in the day you dipshit so ya I know he's been around awhile. I just thought that he has been playing incredibly the last few games.

I think you go lookin for trouble dude. This is probably not the place. Do you talk like this to peoples faces? I hope not. You can always say these thing to my face when I come out there for the Hip tour. That is if you aren't stuck to the couch by then.

the best part of winter is when you first hear those blades hitting the outdoor rink...i remember growing up in regina, we`d be on the outdoor rink every night until it was time to go to bed. i`m 30 now and that feeling of being on the ice in the middle of winter still makes me feel like i`m 10 again. i too remember seeing joe play in the dub going toe to toe with theo for the scoring title...how lucky we were

Take a pill sparky. When I read "Joe can play" it sounds like an endorsement given to a youngster who most people aren't sure of yet (something you'd expect to hear about Sydney Crosby or even Jason Spezza), rather than a guy who's been in the NHL since the 80s, who's won Stanley Cups, and who's won gold medals. Like I said, "Joe can play" is a bit of an understatement. Not sure why this means you need to call me a dipshit, or why you need to suggest I say this "to your face". And you think I'm the one looking for trouble? Umm, yeah.

And, dude, I get off my couch plenty to play rec hockey and to ski. Magically I have this ability to do that, maintain a fulltime job, AND watch football on Sunday afternoons.

I knew you were nothing but a big talker who wouldn't back it up. I don't care what you care more about - you're the mouthy Dolphins fan who was mocking Bills fans. I'm impartial, but I called you out on it, and now you want to run away with your tail between your legs rather than back up your smack-talk posts. I'm done with you.

i still don't see how any of this concerned you in the first place, seeing as you're admittedly not a fan of either team and don't seem have any real interest in the matter. you just seem to like sticking your big ugly, ig'nant and hitler-assed, moustached nose in my business, and i think you need to straight get up off my shit and check yourself. go ahead, you can be the one to take your ball and go home crying, whining, bitching and complaining about it, and not live up to your own word...that'll impress people .

just thought that i would bump this thread up because the bills certainly will win more games than the dolphins this year and thedarkestcanuck will have to leave for a month.

Well, with today's spanking the Dolphins cannot finish ahead of the Bills. Enjoy your month off!

The Darkest Canuck Wrote:if the phins make the playoffs then you must sport a phins avatar for a month upon your return, if the bills make the playoffs then i must do the same but with a bills avatar.

Who'd have thunk that when they started 0-4 that the Bills might make the playoffs? Hope you have that avatar ready when you return.

Lions won today. They are still alive for a playoff spot. :thumb:

Woohoo! :jump

Then again, seems like just about everyone in the NFC can still make the playoffs... even though except for Philly and maybe Atlanta, everyone in the NFC sucks! Thankfully for them there is no crossover rule for playoff teams.

Go figure... :?

- prz - 12-05-2004

Its is sad how crappy the NFC is this year. After Philly no team looks even close to their level. Even Atlanta with their great record has lost to some weak teams.

My Packers got their butts spanked by the Eagles, Green Bay was just not prepared for the game at all...oh well we have Detroit next week at home, should be a romp :thumb: Oh, and who else here can't stand Terrell Owens?? :rambo: The guy is a smug arrogant prima donna!

Yeah but he is Fantasy Gold for me this year. Once Fantasy is over.....T.O. will become my mortal enemy......but for now, I'm glad to have him aboard and he can be as smug and arogant as he wants......Just keep scoring touchdowns T.O. :thumb:
