Gord has some punk in him definately...just listen to "We're Hardcore".

- Drez7 - 06-03-2004

This stuff is awesome! I love all three of the songs and they sound better with each listen. In an earlier interview about the new album they said it was something where they would play the entire new album in concert. Actually I wouldn't mind that at all. The songs seem short so why not! And they rock...with a good mix of a few oldies in there this tour will be one to remember!

Definitely has an REM vibe going. I happen to like REM and this song is similar to REM but it's not like many other Hip songs sound too much like REM. So what if one or two songs out of about 100 sound like REM. That's not such a bad thing and I don't think it's lack of originality, some songs just sound like others. It's not the same as the fifty or so alternative bands that are identical, ie Nickleback, TOADM, Default, Stained or the punk bands like Simple Plan, Blink, Not By Choice, Sum 41 all sounding almost identical.

The HIP and REM are two great bands anyway.

Great tune! There's definatly an early 90's REM sound to it.

That has got to be the funniest punk song ever written. I guess punk songs are often about nothing inparticular, or politics, but a punk song about having a 4th kid? Man, Gord can do anything.

I hear the REM. I hear some very British sounding influences too. All in all I think we have a winner here. Another killer lead off track, following in the footsteps of previous openers. That being said, I just can't see it starting a concert.

If you haven't yet, put this on a cd, and put it in your car. I wish I had a cd player in my work truck so that everytime that bloody Switchfoot song (or Jet, or Hoobastank) came on today I could pop 'er in and just press play. It's definetly a driving song, just watch out for radar.

Cheers

Pat

They've released three singles, and each and every one of them has surprised me. I don't know what to expect next. Garage punk from the Tragically Hip. I never woulda thought it.

- SirMatticus - 06-04-2004

This is some seriously good stuff. I think we've got another classic Hip CD coming soon.

I think it sounds very "new wave" and punk. I think it sounds SO much like The Cure at the beginning, Gord sounds so much like Robert Smith at the beginning. It sounds like The Clash too! Very early 80's

- Kim - 06-04-2004
