I'm with you there. I looked to see if there was anyone with a cool/funny name...not really. Then looked for my favourite numbers..none. Nothing really of interest. There is a guy who's a maple leafs draft pick but he's a 6th rounder so I don't see him ever playing for the leafs..

My next solution is to buy the cheapest and frame it so only the front is showing and you can't see the numbers or name...

If these pucks are available I'm sure they'll be more affordable than the jerseys.

Any hipbasers going want to meet up pregame?

I'll be there tonight writing about the game and doing research for the next book if anyone wants to meet up.

Saw this on facebook. I passed on game tickets because I was under the impression that the auctions would all be online. I would have much rather bid on this than the game worn ones...

The prices in the auction are crazy. Do you think with the obvious popularity of these jerseys that the band might approve replicas to be made?

It might ease your mind a bit to learn it wasn't an auction, it was a raffle. There was a constant lineup of dozens of people waiting to purchase tickets ($2 each or 3 for $5 I think) and a huge pail full of them. I suspect the chances of winning were 1 in 25,000+

I wouldn't rule it out ... but I also wouldn't count on it. Part of what is making the prices crazy is likely the fact that they are so limited.

Additionally, It wouldn't surprise me if the players families or billets are trying to buy them in addition to hip fans. Either way, for the avg price to be over $1000 10 days out from closing probably exceeds all expectations. And I cant help but wonder if they'd feel releasing extras would be stepping on the toes of people who forked out huge cash for these.

Personally I would prefer they re-release a classic (Canadian flag, TTH NHL logo, or LA Kings) or if Im being greedy: a new design when the next album comes out :music

It does ease my mind a bit to know it was a raffle. Still hoping for replicas of these one day...not the sketchy ones on kijiji hahaha

There are definitely family members wanting to buy these..

Last day. Anyone got a bid in on one and hoping to take one home?

I hope at least one makes it into a hipbasers collection.

It won't be mine, far too rich for my blood. Wishing I sold some sports items, posters/vinyl from other bands lying around my house to justify buying one. While I have been opening the wallet for my hip collection lately its easier (and preferable) for me to stomach 100 $20 items, dozens of $50 items, several $200-300 items etc. Id also enjoy hunting down the full collection of beautiful hip jerseys for what one of these costs.

Its amazing to see how much they have raised. Have to think all expectations were surpassed.

Who knows, maybe blank jerseys will eventually be released? With the hype of this game and the auction they'd surely sell a pile more.

Yeah, these went way beyond what I figured they would catch as well. I am now just hoping for blank ones later on..

Re: Looks like a new jersey to buy...... - Sbblake - 02-17-2017

I lucked out on the auction and am eagerly waiting on the delivery of #8 Gordon... My favorite number and I thought there was an nice synergy with the name "Gordon" on the back... For my sake I hope these remain limited but I did offer a suggestion to the Frontenacs... See if arrangment could be made to have TTH sign to original ~30 jersey's and then offer a replica jersey for purchase for all. I will post a few pictures when the jersey arrives.

Re: Looks like a new jersey to buy...... - Scotty12 - 02-22-2017

Amazing purchase/donation. Incredible trifecta that it is your fav number, GORDON and that the bidding for that one didn't get out of control like some of the others. I would have predicted Gordon to sell at or near the top, and feel that for the hip fan that has to be by far the best value in the entire auction. Congrats on the win, looking forward to the photos

Hi Scott, I think you might have tried to send me a PM. Unfortunately I cannot receive them (inbox mentioned I was a new user and not able to access this feature) perhaps a mod could help me out with this. Cheers!
