Saw Sturgill at the Horseshoe in Tronto last year and owned.

And not derail but yeah, people need to check Jason Isbell and The Drive By Truckers for that matter.

Not sure if there are many deadheads on this board, but I've been really liking the Grateful Dead covers album that came out this year.

Admittedly, a lot of the covers stay true too the originals, but some of the more experimental and jammy pieces are really fantastic renditions from many of my favourite contemporary bands. Weirdly, the standout track for me is Mumford & Sons' cover of 'Friend of the Devil'. I generally despise this band, but I'll be damned if this isn't a fantastic take on an old tune. New Dawes album coming out soon. Been loving these guys for a while now and have seen them a couple times live. Taylor is a fantastic songwriter and I dig their sound. New album's a little bit of a departure for them, but on first listen Im liking it. Streaming here now for anyone interested:

Saw this woman open for Drive-By Truckers last week, and she blew me away. First time I've been that impressed with an opening band in a long time. Great songs, beautiful voice, and a killer band. If you like a little country twang with your rock, I highly recommend checking her out.

Agreed! It's a powerful album, and I think it might be the best thing they've done since Brighter Than Creation's Dark. Just read a great review from Exlaim where they call it the most important rock album of 2016. Can't say I disagree.

Finally picked this up yesterday...what a great first listen! Im pretty sure I was turned on to dbt through this forum, and have loved everything they have put out, so thanks for that!
