I think you may be thinking of The Bear.

Emperor Penguin would be unreal for me, definitely.

Titanic Terrarium too. I think one of the Bathouse videos showed Bobby and Gord S. duetting on some banjos right? Perhaps the banjos will be coming along with them on tour? Big Grin

Theres some songs that I've heard many times but just don't get tired of. Like Long Time Running or Springtime.

PS. Whoever said Pigeon camera, I would love to hear that song live.

if i had one wish it would be that No Threat doesnt get lost in the shuffle, its a keeper imo, and if i could get greedy they should play opiated everyshow.

And does anyone else think its time for Johnny to get his own Moby Dick segment... :jump

Hearing "No Threat" this year would be pretty crazy.

Re: Is it too early for setlist wishlists??? - EricStoner - 03-07-2009

No Threat or, as mentioned before, The New Maybe would be pretty wild I agree.

Here is my latest idea for creating excitement and fun on Hipbase: Tragically Hip Setlist Predictor
Before every concert, Hipbasers can log on to Hipbase and answer questions about the show. Points are awarded for how close the answers are to the actual result. The Hipbaser with the most points at the end of the tour is crowned the champion. For example some questions could be: "Which song will open the setlist?" or "How many songs from Road Apples will be performed." Would there be any interest in some thing like this?

For a better understanding of what I am talking about visit http://www.wisewins.com/points/contests.zhtml
If anyone has the ability to write code, they could create a similar format for us Hipbasers to call our own! As an automated form would make it much easier for awarding points rather than time consuming manual calculations.

How about if you want a contest we vote on a song or two that we would like to hear on the upcoming tour and the winner gets played at a few selected shows like Massey Hall for example :music

How come nobody ever wants to hear Butts Wiggilin I kind of really like that song.
Or even an unreleased song such as Blond Solid ?
I personally
wouldnt mind hearing
I'll believe in you
Membership
Butts Wigglin
Thugs
Luxury
Eldorado
Flamenco
thats just to name a few. :jump
Cant wait for my 3 nights in Kitchener shows.

I imagine Gord walking on stage and saying

" Hello New Berlin, Its springtime in Vienna"

New Berlin being the origional name of Kitchener before WW2
and it will be Springtime in late April
Plus its a good way to acknowledge the large German heritage of the Kitchener area
Then they smash into Springtime in Vienna song.

something along those lines about fan voting I remember when R.E.M toured in 02 I believe, the day of the concert people could email song requests in to the band and based on a majority they would play one or two of them maybe more Im not sure.

I saw a couple shows on that tour and I thought it was a cool idea, even though neither of my requests got played.. Sad

The setlists on that tour were varied and really good, I think it worked well from a fan's perspective.

No it was Escape. Robbie's guitar has 2 kinds of delay going on in the beginning which would be a hassle to do live.

I was listening to one of the shows where they played No Threat the other day and was thinking about how it was a shame they didn't play that during the WC tour. When I first heard it I thought it would become a concert staple. It almost sounds like they wrote it just to play live. It has so much energy live they could even use it as a closer.
