We're gettin' there. - mats - 08-09-2003

Hey everyone,
Thanks again to everyone for their AWESOME support of this idea.

Just to let you know that we will be letting you know early next week who the contacts will be for this project.

There most likely will be seven of us that you can bounce your beautiful and well thought out suggestions off of.

As I said earlier, please do not be offended if you are not on this list. This committe was simply created to guide these ideas properly along and hopefully resulting in one thing - THE GREATEST NIGHT OF YOUR LIFE!!!

So be patient and give us help when you can, because we will be asking for it.

Thanks in advance,
Mats.

sounds good 2 me

- D-man - 08-13-2003

Hey everybody!

I realize I'm very low on the Hipbase totem pole right now, but I figure I should at least give my 2 cents...

From what I've been reading, this sounds like a very well thought out, and an overall great idea. My concern lies in attendance though. What happens if a venue is booked with limited space? Say 800 can fit into said venue. As of right now there are 888 registered users on the Hipbase. I realize that not all members would be able to attend, so we'll say 500 of them can get to the show. That's all good, but what if each of those 500 people wants to bring a guest? Who gets the ultimate decision as to who gets let in and who doesn't?

Don't get me wrong, like I said, I love this idea. I just wanted to toss this out there for consideration. Keep up the great work Mats!

Darren

Hello Hipters! I think this was a great idea. You guys seem like you are working really hard for something great. I don't know how much help I would be to you guys, but soon as you guys get everything organized I would definatly love to attend. Thanks for all who are making this happen. Go Hip Big Grin

I heard Sting recently performed a concert for 900 of his closest, most ardent fans. Can anyone substantiate this claim? If true, then there's precedent that can be used in the pitch to the Hip's representation ("Look at the success of the intimate Sting concert...")

- dyersbay - 08-25-2003

That would be nice!! :thumb:
Espically if there was about 100 of us!!

- The Heron Outside - 08-25-2003

Not sure if Sting did indeed do this show, but the question is, did Sting organize it, or was it organized by the fans? If Sting and his crew organized it, well then it's a totally different story...if the fans did it, maybe it could be something to bring up...

Private Hip show - G - 08-27-2003

Just want to say, I was driving along this morning listening to Inviolet Light, really enjoying it, it got me pumped for another day of work. Then I started thinking about the show in Barrie and was ecstatic. Then I thought of the prospect of attending a private show, got even more excited til I thought I'd have to pull over.

Keep up the oh-so-worthy-work. Let me know if I can do anything.
Oh yeah, I don't know if Gord and crew care too much about what Sting did but it certainly can't hurt if it was a success. I think if it's a good plan they'll be there.

G (aka the darkest one)
Come in come in.... come in ..it's warm and it's safe here.

- macyme - 08-27-2003

i know this may be pre mature but wouldn't it be great if the show was a go and that we could get the hip to play a couple of unreleased songs....a must for me, Get Back Again......just in case they've forgotten about the song someone can bring the lyrics. Big Grin

- beanmedic - 08-27-2003

that would be cool, we'll see what happens

- Sabina - 08-28-2003
