This is a bummer......it was the only maritime date I was able to hit. Freddy was a bad night, and I have Gov't Mule tix for the Thursday night in Freddy, so I can't make the Halifax show. :x

don't fret about having to see gov't mule over the hip...
i promise they'll put on a rocking show (i've seen the mule twice...and am seeing them 3 more times this summer)

and 1 in Amsterdam at the Paradiso

I feel everyone on the east coast's pain about the cancellation of Hip shows, but if anyone is looking for some music to ease the pain...I recommend checking out Gov't Mule. (If you are unfamiliar with the band, send me a PM and I would be happy to send you some of their music)

First off let me say that I feel the pain of those who won't get to see a show. One of the first times I went to see TTH in Cleveland opening for Page and Plant, they didn't make it. I believe it was because of a childbirth. Anway, you could probably count on one hand the number of shows TTH has canceled over the 20+ years. So give them a break! Either the cancellation(s) was totally out of their hands or it was for a very good reason. Best wishes to the band & crew, I hope they enjoyed their well deserved vacation, Mark

Nah, not frettin' about the Mule - I'm pumped for that show! I have lots of their live stuff as well, and seen my share of Allman Bros. shows, so I know what to expect. Having them come to Fredericton is HUGE. I was just so pumped to see TTH the night before though. I saw TTH way back in 90 or 91 in Montreal (in my university days.....a bit hazy!), but every time they've gotten out this way since then I've always had something else on the go.....this time I finally got tix, but was bummed by the cancellation.

I'm sure there's a good reason.......just a bit disappointed I can't see the guys this time around either.

yea i'd be interested to hear the reason why the shows got canceled..
hopefully the boys are planning something big that will make up for it (if it's possible to ease the pain)

in the meantime....enjoy the mule!

there should have been mention of this in the last e-mail. they are dropping the ball on this one

MAv, what is the story here?

- shneebs - 05-14-2007

Wow! What a shock I got this morning when checking my voicemails after a week's vacation in Hatteras, NC... My 2nd voicemail was the Harbour Station Box office with the "we've refunded your credit card" message! And no mention of it on TheHip.com that I can see! You'd think they'd offer some explanation there before we get the news from the Harbour Station box office!... Grrrr.... Thank Gawd I have 2nd row F'ton tix, but I had front row for Harbour Station!....

Shneebs.

This is only a guess but since it's only May I think another show will be announced for Saint John. Why come all the way east, play St John's, have 2 nights off, play Freddy, have 1 night off, play Halifax, then go to London UK. I don't think so. Here's hoping.

I'll gladly host it in my backyard.

I gotta say, this is a downer for me too. I was never even alerted of this cancellation. My wife and I were planning our trip down east so I went to the site to get the dates and noticed it was gone. I e-mailed hip.com and MAv told me it was cancelled. No e-mail from the hip and nothing from Harbour. Glad we didn't get all the way down there to see it was cancelled.

It was posted on the site for quite some time before it was removed.

We've been through this on e-mail already. I was reiterating the fact of nothing via e-mail and somewhat commenting on the people that got calls from Habour Station and automatic refunds on CC. I guess out of province customers don't get the courtesy?
I'm glued to the site daily now to ensure something else isn't cancelled. Wink
