Buffalo vs.
NY Rangers (i can't go against my team)
New Jersey vs.
Ottawa
Detroit vs. San Jose
Anaheim vs. Vancouver
I have no faith in my predictions this round though. The Rangers will be in tough against the Sabres, and chances are if i wasn't a Rangers fan i would of went with Buffalo...but then again the Rangers are flying right now, are getting fantastic goaltending from Henrik Lundqvist, and have only lost
3 of their last 24 games.
NJ/OTT could go either way, but i'm going with Ottawa. I'm going with Detroit, though partially just because i want them to win. San Jose will be very tough, and i wouldn't be surprised at all is SJ won in say, 5 games. The Wings are a very good, deep club though & i think they'll win it in 7. Anaheim/Vancouver again, i like both teams & it could go either way. I just think the Ducks are overall a better team, so i'll say Ducks in 6.

Buffalo vs NY Islanders
New Jersey vs Tampa Bay
Atlanta vs NY Rangers
Ottawa vs Pittsburgh
Detroit vs Calgary
Anaheim vs Minnesota
Vancouver vs Dallas
Nashville vs San Jose
There's alot of talent in the West its hard to call, but I think Detroit will fall apart as usual, Dallas has a good team but will suffer from Turco-itis again as usual. Im going with the Sharks in the West and the Devils in the East, Brodeur will lead them all the way. And as good as Buffalo is, I think the playoffs and the big season will eventually wear them down, plus their defence is a bit soft and Brodeur is just too good. The other teams in the East just arent good enough to make it imo.
West Final: San Jose vs. Anaheim
East Final: Buffalo vs. New Jersey
Cup Final: New Jersey vs. San Jose
Winner: Devils in 6 games.
Total guesses, the west is tough Im probably way off..we'll see.
Almost perfect, stupid Calgary..what was I thinking!
I still say Sharks all the way in the West and Jersey in the East. :thumb:

My two picks for the finals are still alive... and I'd be crazy not to still go for them. My picks are bolded, and the two I think will be in the finals are in colour.
Anaheim vs. Vancouver
San Jose vs. Detroit
Buffalo vs. New York
New Jersey vs. Ottawa

What a night. What a night of hockey indeed.
The two biggest factors in the Canucks win: no Zubov for Dallas and the men in stripes. Seriously, the Canucks got very favourable refereeing and I'd go as far as saying the referees DID decide the outcome of the game. I'm a Vancouver fan but I know what I see. The Stars had everything they wanted. They controlled the 1st period, silenced the crowd, had a 1-0 lead. Then the 2nd period is where it went bad for Dallas. A slew of bad calls got them in penalty trouble, a 5 on 3 against at one point, and the Canucks got back in the game. I think the Canucks should stray from saying anything bad about refereeing for a while because they were handwrapped a gift last night. Oh well, I get to see them for few more games anyway.

Turco-itis? Is that what it's called when the goalie pitches 3 shutouts but his team still can't find a way to win the series

cratch:
As for my predictions, I have to agree with Ryan in that I have no confidence in these, because I could easily see 3 of the 4 series going either way. But for fun I'll go with:
Ducks in 5 - and only cause Luongo will steal a game for the Canucks.
Sharks in 6 - just a gut feeling.
Devils in 6 - after a slow start, Brodeur really picked it up the last few games against TB. That's bad news for you Sens fans.
Rangers in 7 - Going out on a limb here, but with the way the Rangers have been playing lately it wouldn't surprise me at all.

1st round...in the East I'll go with Buffalo, New Jersey, NY Rangers, and Ottawa. In the West I'll say Detroit, Anaheim, Vancouver, San Jose.
:rambo: I was 8/8 in the first round :rambo:

i really don't see the ducks dominating as much as everybody thinks..luongo is on a roll, the nucks d-men have a chance to jump in the play against the ducks style of play, unlike the dallas series...i'm holding out hope the nucks can take this series, although i'll be the first to admit that it's gonna be tough

No its what you call a goalie who has choked in the playoffs every year he's been in the league and everyone knows it: (11-18 2.21 GAA .909%) But if you actually paid attention you'd see I quoted myself, I said that
before the playoffs started, when I made my predictions and with good reason. Hats off to Turco he played good this year no doubt about it, I think he might have finally shaken the choker tag off, who knows.
That make sense now?

If Turco's play this year doesn't get rid of his choker tag, nothing will. Seriously, there's not a goalie in the playoffs who played better than Turco. He was out of this world. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:
Lizardking, most people shared your opinion. Turco shut us all up.

Lizard King - 04-24-2007
He certainly did Tiger, no disrespect to Vancouver but I was pulling for Turco and the Stars this year. I do like Turco as a goalie, regular season the guy is brilliant, and his playoff woes used to be a nice annual joke but I was hoping he would prove some doubters wrong this year and Im glad he did. I guess I have a soft spot for goalies, mostly cause I used to be one for many years and I know whats its like.
It gets lonely sometimes..

I was paying attention, I merely highlighted your previous predicition to give Turco some credit for proving you (and everyone else that gave him the 'choker' label) wrong. To say he choked in the playoffs every year is a stretch - in '03 his numbers were 1.87/.919, not too bad if you ask me. No doubt he didn't play well '04 and '06, but he was far from the only one responsible for those two Dallas choke jobs.
