Hang tough, mojo. Just two more weeks.

I can't lob too much criticsm at fans who have waited for new Hip and pre-ordered the record (or plan to buy a copy) but cannot resist the temptation to listen to a pirated vesion after it leaks and people start discussing how good they think it is. It's hard. Damn hard. I know.

But each one of us that caves in is just another unit of incentive and another means of support for sites that are essentially havens for illicit activity.

There are tons of rationalizations that may serve as justifications, but at the end of the day, rationalizations don't legitimize illicit practices.

Is it a "big deal"? Maybe not. But I doubt too many artists want to support sites which distribute pirated material.

This is a 70's Rock album, with an alternative edge, where headphones are required to get the full experience.
My mouth watered a little while reading this.

Re: We Are The Same Discussion - cochise - 03-24-2009

I have to admit......I did it, I downloaded it...........it was right there in front of my face, on my computer...........but I just couldn't do it, I couldn't listen to it. I threw Morning Moon and Love is a First on my iPod because I have heard those both, and then deleted it.

I just couldn't do it, I need to wait to buy the CD, I need that fun feeling of throwing the CD in my car at the store and listening to it for the first time...........

It does sound promising!

Re: We Are The Same Discussion - screw_ball - 03-24-2009

You know, I wouldn't even mind if this happened to be their last album. This is just so good. My justification for listening to the leak... I was just in the right place emotionally to listen to this last night. I could have waited until I got the CD and I'm sure it would have been great then and perhaps an even better experience, but I've been having a weird few weeks and yesterday was especially weird so I needed it. It was out there and I needed it. I think I have a stronger emotional bond with it now through our symbiosis and I'm glad I didn't wait and force the moment.

Re: We Are The Same Discussion - ikky99 - 03-24-2009

I cannot imagine how you guys are going to hold out for another 2 weeks!! Since I downloaded WATS I've pre-ordered the bundle from Maple (even though the $7 shipping makes me rage) in order to get Vault #4 which I wasn't going to do since I wouldn't have received WATS until well after April 7th. So, in my case, the Hip/record company are benefitting since I'm paying $14.99 for WATS instead of $9.99 at Future Shop PLUS the damn $7 shipping fee which must include at least $4 in profit.

Carry on.

Re: We Are The Same Discussion - Gortron - 03-24-2009

Did anyone read this review?

http://www.buzzine.com/2009/03/the-tragically-hip-we-are-the-same/

Pretty luke-warm....

'They retain their integrity, though, with songs like “Honey, Please” and “The Exact Feeling” '

Strange, for me 'The Exact Feeling' is the weakest track and 'Honey, Please' is middle of the road.

Re: We Are The Same Discussion - Gusthepolarbear12 - 03-24-2009

LOL thanks Joe,
I dont think I could bring myself to download it before listening to it on album. I even pre-orderd the album on iTunes for some reason, but will still give its first through and through listen on album.

But with those previee 10 second tracks I fell into, I think Speed River sounds soooo cooool!

Ya! Its called "Three"!
It has 3 albums and alot of the songs are triple named, such as "Through&Through&Through", "Wait, Wait, Wait", "Rewinf, Rewind, Rewind"... I jsut got home with it, so far its a great album!
