Simon has been suspended for the remainder of the regular season (15 games), plus 7 playoff games should the Isles make it that far.

*edit* apparently now the league is denying the report and saying a decision hasn't been reached yet, so who knows...

What do you mean so what? Someone said he drove Moore's head into the ice and I said I don't think it was intentional. I'm fine with the Bertuzzi suspension. It's over and done with. I'm not even a fan of Bertuzzi and couldn't care less if he was suspended for life. It doesn't change the fact that Bertuzzi was just more unlucky than Simon. The INTENT was every bit as malicious, if not more so, from Simon's act. Let's say: Player A hits a guy from behind viciously but the player gets up and is ok.
Player B hits a guy from behind viciously and the player breaks his neck. What's the difference if the intent was the same? Why should player A get off with a lighter suspension than player B when it just so happens that player A just got lucky? Intent means nothing does it? Simon's act was one of the more violent acts in recent memory. It was a worse act than Mcsorley's but Simon just got lucky that Hollweg wasn't more injured. If I had Colin Campbell's job, I would much rather see 100 Domi-Samuelson incidents than Simon-Hollweg incidents. There is no comparison. A stick is more dangerous than a fist.

Raycrap has been so inconsistent that it's amazing he can get a win in this day & age...........

Got to hand it to the Leafs though, with Tucker back in the mix, should make for an excellent finish to the season, playoff bound or not.....

Yeah - it's called honesty. When Mogilny signed with the Leafs he admitted that he wanted to re-sign with New Jersey, but the Leafs offered more money.

Or, worst case scenario, admit that you want to help the Coyotes get over the hump. "Committed to winning right now"? Puh-lease.

The East playoff race is closer then ever, it's going to be one hell of a finish. The Rangers got a huge victory today over Carolina, even though the Canes managed to come out of it with 1 point of their own. Henrik Lundqvist was sensational, especially in overtime & was yet again perfect in the shootout (he's only allowed 7 shootout goals, while make something like 45 saves!).
The Rangers are back into 8th spot, but are also now only 2 points behind the Islanders, and they still play each other twice this season. So it's really now 2 spots available for 7 teams. Both the Boston Bruins & Florida Panthers (who only have 29 wins...but 13 OTL's) are just 5 back of 8th now.

Islanders 78 points (14 GR)
Rangers 76 points (13 GR)

Hurricanes 76 points (12 GR)
Leafs 75 points (13 GR)
Canadians 74 points (12 GR)
Bruins 71 points (13 GR)
