Maybe my hearing is affected by the fact that I've been listening to the Hip for the least 3 or 4 days just about non stop cranked full blast anywhere I go, but the audio in that fancy pants movie theatre I was in seemed off (Dolby my ass). Too much bass... and I couldn't hear the regular guitars well enough.
Still, totally loved the intimate format. If I had a band I'd definitely kill to make a record in the Bathouse Studio.
One of my highlights was seeing the original (I'm assuming) art from the Fully Completely cover, and hearing the explanation of how it was made.

Really really really cool idea!
The Depression Suite was epic....really really really epic!
The Last Recluse is going to be a show stopper me thinks.
New songs sounded so wonderful. Can't wait for this tour.

Yea the fret board was also silver on the guitar.
The wife leaned over to me and said
" He better shave that thing down "
I thought it looked pretty " WILD "

Ya stellar everything has been said the only thing is I wish it was longer and got to meet some fellow Hipbasers :thumb:
Some clapping and I whistled as loud as I could which is pretty loud.
How about Gord's rant in LIAF awesome!
Ya his rant was sick! Looked like he wanted to throw down some dance moves but held back hahah
Gave me alot more respect for this album.. im on struggle has a name, what a sick album

Im feeling no real problem with this album. I love it so much more than WC already. Im fine with the keyboard guy, hey M@W was amazing and they used a keyboardist AND a female backup vocalist. It kicks some major ass. Anyone notice how the lights in the loft looked like the bottom of the WC album cover? I liked the olive oil comment the fully completely album cover.

People clapped after every track at Queensway. It was a bit of a golf clap, but good nonetheless.
Damn....wish I could have been at YOUR theatre. The dinks in Winnipeg seemed more interested at laughing and snorting at completely inane details.

Of course, the first number, I had no idea was the most anticipated 9-minute track that I wanted to hear so badly. Only till I got into my car and unwrapped my disc did I know. I thought it was two seperate songs....but...jeez did that ever blow me away....I've always wished the Hip would take a page out of Matt Good's book on "how to write songs well in excess of 6 minutes without sounding lame" I can tell I'll be spinning this all night...
Found it amusing that Gord was sweating after one song, without dancing, or exerting himself vocally.
If Paul is the pool shark, is that with or without a handicap of Gord singing while playing?
Best part of the night for me was M@W...Gord wanted to dance. But he was sitting down! If he moved around much more, Paul wouldn't have been able to play!
I saw someone else comment on the sound...wasn't sure if that was just us in Winnipeg but holy crapola, you'd think they could turn Gord's mic down just a tad. His voice was overpowering, you couldn't really hear anything else other than Gord. Of course, at times it made him look bad if he effed up a little or missed a note by a half-tone or less. It was actually annoying how much his mic was turned up.
All in all...I hope I can get some kind of recording of this...it was aaaawwweeeeesoooome to see their studio, and I envy the dude who's job it is to, literally, live there. It really looks more like your typical cabin than any fancy pants studio, which I suppose is what is so appealing about it. Really awesome, I liked how George (as much a fan I am of his) stayed out of the way for the most part. Seemed to enjoy himself thats for sure!

Just amazing. The loft certainly makes my basement jam space look like shit lol. I was saying the exact same thing about Gord's mic being way high in the mix. The acoustic jam's were awesome! I said to my girlfriend, as Strombo played a game of snooker with Gord while he sang Bobcaygeon and Paul and Rob played in the background, "If this isn't a one of the highlights of his career, I don't know what is." Just awesome though, I'm reeling. :jump

So glad that I got out to catch this. Can't believe they opened with Depression Suite. That was sick — glad to hear a few
Phantom Power tracks.
Well run great format with some truly honest production values. The band is a class act, no doubt.

I was really worried he was going to forget a lyric or something. I should never doubt Gord Downie.
