Report: Calgary, Edmonton, eyeing Tucker

i never liked darcy, i say get what you can for him and lose him. i wonder if philly would dump forsberg for him if tucker would agree to sign after the season.

I'd take Tucker in a heartbeat. The only downfall is that he gets injured because he plays so hard and he's about 180 pounds soaking wet.

I doubt the Leafs have cap room to get Forsberg. Plus, the Leafs should be sellers, not buyers. Forsberg is an old man who is just about ready for retirement with his body breaking down on him so much now.

BTW, the Leafs could get a lot for Tucker.

I'd love Tucker on the Canucks. Tucker is like Matt Cooke except that Tucker can score and actually has the balls to fight.

all i know is edmonton needs to make a few moves, BADLY. tucker would be a great addition to the team. still, i'm holding out hope that kevin lowe can pull off the kind of miracle trades ala last season that got us to the finals...

When i first read of the Conroy trade i thought it was a 2nd pick in both 2007 & 2008, but i guess the 2007 pick is only a 4th rounder. Jamie Lundmark has been a complete bust so far yeah, us Ranger fans had very high hopes for him a few years back. I actually thought he might be coming around last season when he played very well & was actually productive following his trade to Calgary...but he's been a bust again this year.

Yup. Something about his hip. On the Fan 960 today Rob Kerr mentioned that it's a recurring injury and that he'll be out for a while longer. I totally agree regarding Goddard. I think he's definitely earned his right to stay with the big club for a while. Our rookies have been awesome this year, especially after Iginla went down. I can't say enough good things about Dustin Boyd, Brian Moss and Mark Giordano. And ya gotta love Conroy being back in town. Combine that with Iggy's expected return this weekend, and this should give the boys a much needed lift. They've gone an impressive 7-2-2 with Iginla out of the lineup, which is way better than I expected, but it looks like his absence is starting to catch up with them. They looked awful against Minny and Chicago this week. The only reason we earned points in those games is because Kipper stood on his head. Here's hoping for a much better effort against the Kings tomorrow night.

I dunno - I just don't see Conroy having much of an impact. He's certainly not going to be the #1 centre, which means the only real time he'll see with Iginla may be some time on the PP. Other than that he's likely going to be the 3rd line centre. Conroy simply isn't the same player that he used to be.....and let's face it....other than the 2001-02 season he's never even really come close to being a point-a-game player anyway.

I agree, this trade could totally backfire, and he's had a pretty disappointing year so far in terms of points, but a fresh start might be just what he needs. He's said all along that he never wanted to leave Calgary, and yesterday he mentioned how excited he is to be back here. He's not gonna be a first line guy. I think Sutter brought him back to basically challenge some of our 3rd and 4th liners, who quite frankly have been pretty sub-par over the last few weeks. He's still a pretty solid two-way player who can kill penalties and help with the power play, and he's a just a great guy to have in the dressing room. It certainly doesn't hurt having him back, and I think he's an improvement over the completely useless Jamie Lundmark.

Balderdash! Man, you gotta stop believing anything that comes out of the mouths of pro athletes. Craig Conroy signed with LA as a FREE AGENT. It was his choice. He CHOSE TO SIGN WITH ANOTHER TEAM. Actions speak louder than words. He goes where the money is, like every other athlete. This sappy, "I love Calgary" schtick is a complete mockery. If he never wanted to leave Calgary, all he had to do was sign with them instead of LA. :rambo:

I disagree. Conroy is a rarity in pro sports in that he's actually a genuine guy. He used to come into my store quite often and I had the pleasure of chatting with him on more than a few occassions. When he says he enjoys playing here, I believe him. Bottom line is the team loves him, the fans love him, and under the new system we can actually afford him. I for one am happy to have him back. The standing ovation he received when he stepped on the ice tonight was great. Oh, and did I mention he scored 2 goals?

Gotta agree with direwolf74 here. When he "left" it was because the Flames (or should I say Sutter) didn't offer him a contract. I think that if Sutter had come within 80% of what the Kings offered, he would have stayed. By trading for him Sutter has more or less admitted that he underestimated the guy's impact - at least in the dressing room. And with two goals tonight, I'll shut up about him being a shadow of his former self. :oops:

How about Nik Antropov's second goal last night? Who does that kid think he is?

At various times this season I've written off both Antropov and Raycroft, but they're both looking pretty ok these days.

And maybe it just seems this way to me, but does anybody rip more pucks off the post than Alex Steen??
