It's better than nothing. And be careful... it's The Who's taping policy... not the Hip's.

Don't The Who record and release most/all of their shows on CD and/or DVD?

borgs - 11-16-2006
Please note: No cameras or recording devices allowed for these shows.

Yeah, I doubt they accept any fan tapers. I hadn't thought of that.
Edit: Well, I guess not then.

This great news; Congrats to The Hip - this will be quite the honour (and well deserved).
As for MAv... damn you, now you've gotten that song in my head and it shows no signs of leaving.

Recently I saw a list of the Top 50 Rock Bands in History. The Top 5 looked like this:
1) The Beatles
2) Pink Floyd
3) The Who
4) The Rolling Stones
5) Led Zeppelin
If you recognize that Page & Plant are the closet thing we’ll ever get to seeing Led Zeppelin live, then come March 2007 The Hip will have shared the stage with a ridiculous collection of musical legends.
I think all five bands listed above became legendary due to their success in the US back in the 60’s and 70’s. Yet here we have The Hip sharing the stage with three of the five biggest rock bands in history and they still can’t get recognized in the States???
I still don’t get it and probably never will. I know the band doesn’t care and neither do I, just an observation from down south.

With the New Years show in Chicago and this, does anyone still believe that the band (or at least their record company) don't care about cracking the US market?

KGB 101.5 Presents
The Who with Special Guests The Tragically Hip
ipayOne Center at the Sports Arena
San Diego, California
:x GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
I was in San Diego LAST March. I can't believe it; I even toyed with the idea to delay my trip another year - if I had done that, I'd be there -----
You Better You Bet I would be there. If I had one wish, I'd ask
The Seeker for a
Magic Bus to transport me across country, from where
I Can See For Miles, but mostly where I can watch The Hip open for The Who - ooh I'd be a
Happy Jack then. Alas, all we can do is
Join Together in our collective sadness.
See Me, Feel Me, feel my pain. *sigh*
On the other hand... congratulations to the boys for landing an opening spot for The Who! That's ACE! :thumb:

Wow. That would be a fantastic show. First band I ever saw was The Who at B.C. Place, about a month before I moved to San Diego. Come on Alaska Airlines, need a sweet deal. Tough tiiming though, oh well.
So now they've opened for the Stones and most of Led Zeppelin, who's next (ahem)?
The Floyd? Neil Young? JETHRO TULL??? (ha ha)
God forbid Gord decides he wants to be The Hip's exclusive pan flute player. Unless he jazzes it up like Will Farrell in Anchorman. That woud be entertaining.

It's like opening for the Stones...but better! I'd love to see that show. What's next, an opening spot for U2?? Now THAT would be something!

What?? At the risk of Bono being upstage? They wouldn't let that happen!
