This isn't the first time there's been different prices for different sections. I have two different ticket stubs with two different prices from the two night run in August 02 at the Amp. I'm pretty sure other shows at the ACC have been the same.

The sky isn't falling, the band isn't "selling out," and Sudbury hasn't listened to anything since Day For Night... sheesh...

Now that everyone has been pissed off, let's go back to our regularly scheduled programs... like catching me on the mothernetwork (the northwestern Ontario version at least) in about 45 minutes Smile

Looking at those, prices for The Hip at $39-$75 seem pretty well in line with the market to me. And there's also the fact that because of the tiered pricing, they are able to offer some tickets for $39, which is LESS than every seat in Barrie.

yes, but the above bands play here way, way less frequently than the hip do. i think the hip tickets are expensive...yes.

i know this doesn't factor into what the acc's charge is, obviously, but i mean this purely from an "occasion" standpoint...as in the above don't play toronto that often.

just cuz one can afford tickets doesn't take away the idea that they're expensive. i easily have enough money for a $2 starbucks coffee...but still, that's expensive.

my friend told me, and unless I'm mistaken, the 20th row floor seats we got in Lethbridge were only 60 a pop....

Sorry to keep this post up on the list but I'm not finished yet!! LOL

As to why this thread needs to be locked is kinda ridiculus, imho. It's an open honest discussion that is relevant.

Anyways Pat...thanks for the reply...you will find that the reason there were 2 ticket prices at the Molson Amp is that the band did offer lawns at a cheaper price, which is totally acceptable in my opinion. All reserved seating at the Molson Amp was the same price.

All ACC shows have never had tiered pricing. Now all of a sudden they do.

So why the change now?

AGAIN...please note I'm still grateful to see them play live, cause they are one of the best bands out there today...I suppose I'm a little miffed that things have slid down a slippery slope, for the worst, for us fans. There is no "real" fan club and now tickets are priced so that I'm forced to the back of the arena.

and I don't care how much the tickets are if they aren't tiered...my thought is that they definitely still won't meet the top price at the ACC this year.

red deer didn't offer tiered pricing but edmonton did

I think I speak for all the fans across the pond when I say: "Well said, Rory - I'm with you 100%".

I also agree with what grimes said - surely it's better to have some cheaper (although, obviously not as good a view) tickets, than one blanket price for them all, which would price some people out from going.

I think the teired pricing allows the more die hard fans better tickets, my thinking is is that the more casual fan would opt for the cheaper seats since they don't care as much allowing for the bigger fans to choose better seating.

how much does it suck when your in the rafters standing up singing your balls off to every song and you see people with better seats just sitting there, I don't see a problem with the teired pricing

I figured this was the best thread to post this, rather than start a new one. I just went to ticketmaster and picked up a couple of golds close to (but not behind) the stage. My wife has been listening to WC a lot and finally caved and said lets splurge, so I checked on the off chance there might be some ACC seats left. Didn't expect to do this well. Not sure if they recently released some tickets, or if it just hasn't sold that well. Just a heads up if anyone is looking.

I noticed this as well when a friend asked me if the show was sold out or not yet. I'd guess it has to do with the Oshawa and Barrie shows. People that would normally drive into Toronto are probably going to those instead.

I just paid $25 for a general admission ticket to the March 13th show at the Roxy in Atlanta, Georgia. I will have to drive 5 hours from Florida for the one shot I have to see the band for probably another 3 years.

The Hip don't get that far south that often, but when they do, we get to see them in small venues for pocket change. I guess it's a trade-off.
