either you bought a bunch extras and are selling them over face to your "buddies"

or you are happy with 25th row floors

or you don't remember the good old days

what about those tiered ticket prices?? why just toronto and hamilton? are those the only 2 markets that sell out so they put tiered pricing for those 2 shows only? doesnt seem as good as it use to be...

there's some good points here and personally i think the band shouldn't be saying they are offering "fan club tickets" when any scalper can join and scoop them up before a fan. why not just call it what it is " a ticketmaster presale"

I am thrilled to bits about the way this transaction worked out !

Was it smooth ...NO... I was actually in panic mode when the password didn't come up at 10:00 !

Do I care if it was smoth NO...cuz I got the best seats in the house and I worked for them .
I didn't sit on my ass hoping they would just fall into my lap nor am I sitting on my ass lamenting about it after the fact.

No matter how sales are handled there are always people dissappointed.
You guys need to lighten up and celebrate that The Hip are bringing it to us and perhaps you can find comfort in the fact that The Hip gods made sure the best seats fell into the right hands.

I read an earlier comment where you all were wishing to return to the days of old.
The days of old for me would not include computers...they didn't have them in those days. You took your hard earned money and camped outside the venue with all the other FANS and got your tickets.

No...I'm not new at the game and that is in part why I got the seats I did !

as for ebay that is not something that is unique to the Tragically Hip...perhaps you are new to the scene yourself ? Prostitution and scalping...the oldest proffessions known to man. As long as there is a need it will be met and ain't NOBODY gonna stop it.

however there are ways to do it right(pearl jam) and this bogus "fan club ticket" tth thing is simply not the way(even if you did get tickets)...for cryin out loud all it was was a GENERAL ticketbastard presale which doesn't mean a damn thing to any of us, really. wht advertise it as anything else than what it really is. there is no fan club. period.

i always was soo proud of the tth cause they cared but they have taken a step in the wrong direction, where they should be moving forward, on this tour.

also why cant anyone comment on the tiered ticket price situation? why is it they play the pheonix for $65 and yet charge $75 for up close tickets for hamilton and toronto. come on people!!!

please try to convince me this new system "really works" and that it's sooo awesome...so far your attempts haven't won me over...not that u all really care what i think, anyways!

again i have to say this is all good criticism/discussion to go through. i absolutely love the new cd and rave about the fact that i picked it locally up for $9.99. it is by far the best cd they've put out since henhouse(imho)

News Flash....

it is -6 this morning in Peterborough ! brrr

The Wolf 101.5 has reported that people started lining up as of 7:30pm last night for the tickets being released this morning.

Some very staunch Hip supporters in Peterborough...even if they aren't members of this forum.

who ever waited in line deserved tickets, even though i bet some got shut out, obviously...i'm betting there were no touts in that line up at all...hmmm the show sold out...hmmm some fans left out...hmmm perhaps a fan club might help fans secure tickets...hmmmm oh ya we have a fan club and they offer tickets! awesome?

i suppose those who weren't lucky can just go to ebay, where i'm sure there's tons...

so no one wants to comment on the tiered pricing structure eh...OK NEW THREAD!

I have to say I've always have got better seats on my own than through the presale. I kind of liked getting up at 4 in the morning and going to an obscure ticketmaster to get front or second row seats. Waiting at my computer until 10:00 and hoping that I can get through the ticketmaster website hasn't worked too well for me. Both times I've bought reserved seats I've ended up with 5th row, which is good but I've done better on my own. Even getting my tixs for the GA shows in Calgary was a nightmare. It took me 45 mins to get through the ticketmaster website. I was so frustrated and I didn't think I was going to be able to get tickets. It worked out in the end but it caused some very anxious/frustrated/angry moments. Also, did any of you notice that the old presale announcements were very last minute? I always got an email the day of the sale saying, and I got screwed over for shows because of that.
