Hmm...top three:

1. Ottawa 2004 - killer performance, solid setlist, beautiful weather and a great group of friends a memorable concert make.
2. Fort York #2 - apparently they played a pretty rare song or something...
3. Kingston 2004 - three weeks after leaving Kingston I was back, surrounded by my friends and seeing my boys in their own backyard. Average show, but the circumstances made it a memorable day.

Either of the three nights in a row I saw them on the IVL tour in 2002. The venues (N/S Jubilee Auditoriums) were perfect, the band was spot on, and the setlists were awesome. I think my favourite point of the trifecta was the fade from Unplucked Gems into the Dire Wolf, which is pretty much the best Hip moment I've ever experienced. The Whiskey show in 2004 was good too, as the band was RIGHT THERE, but the setlist left a bit to be desired. Oh well!

The last hip show at MLG, there were a bunch of shows there after the hip, it was still being used for concerts in 2000

My favorite hip shows in no perticular order would be

Belleville 06
Fort York 06 (2nd night)
Amsterdam 06
Toronto evening with 2nd night
Last night (Oct 23rd)
Horseshoe last week, it was great to see them in that venue!

There are lots more but I've listed enough already

My personal top three are:

New Year's Eve 1999 @ACC - simply the best collection of Canadian rock n roll; the band was on fire and I still remember Gord's "this is genocide" line to this very day. as a bonus you had the Rheo's playing as a supporting act.

12/03/2000 @ACC - the depth and breadth of songs played on this date continues to blow me away, plus Kate Fenner and Chris Brown adding their magic to this show is very memorable for me.

12/12/98 @ the Modjeska Theatre Milwaukee, Wisconsin - my very first Hip show and it truely affirmed in my mind that the Hip were a great rock n roll band.

930 Club in Washington DC. i believe it was in 02 or 03. there was hardly anyone there and I was right up close. I will never forget that night as long as i live.

I'm thinking it has to be Belleville this past summer. Long Time Running with Gord sitting on the speaker box in front of the stage letting the crowd sing it was something I don't think I'll ever forget (if you get the chance to download the torrent I highly suggest you do). Ottawa Blues Festival was also great because of the outdoor atmosphere and the proverbial Wheat Kings sing along. However, I must stress that 4 concerts by no means justifies this forum topic. There are obviously a ton of Hip fans out there with a lot more shows under their belts than I. That said, here's hoping to hundreds more concerts in the century to come. If you think about it, if Gord and the band show even a little bit of the longevity the Stones do, there's still another 20 years of Canada's greatest rock show to come!!!!

Aspen 1998 - First & only time seeing them in the States...what a treat to watch them quickly win the crowd.
