An update to the Sam Roberts album. You can now preorder on Itunes, which includes two bonus tracks: Fall Before You Finish and Step Inside.
Step Inside, as stated earlier in the thread, is a favourite of mine. This is their "Get Back Again" -- the sappy high school love song that isn't nearly as well written as their later material, but it's such a catchy, enjoyable ballad, it's hard not to love.
Cheers,
Pat

Just in case you guys haven't seen it yet, here's the cover art for Sammy's new album. Looks like something out of a comic book.

That's a beautiful album cover, I hate it when artists don't try at all when packaging the CD.

Yes, thanks a lot. They still had some left this evening.
I must say that I'm fairly disappointed with The Gate, but considering the quality of Sammy Boy's music in the past and the fact that they've had 3 long years to prepare this album, I'm assuming it's an anomaly.
By the way, Sam's show at AJ's Hangar in Kingston in September 2003 was easily one of the top 5 shows I've attended. Their energy was astounding.

I heard the Gate for the first time today, not a bad song, it didn't blow me back but I think after a few listens on a proper stereo it would grow on you. The thing I wasn't overly impressed with was the video, its a dead art if ask me, but the music channels are partly to blame for that especially MM. I really dig the cover art, nice work.

Go here, http://umusic.ca/samroberts/ which will lead you to MTV Canada's website, which for the next week will be streaming Chemical City!
I'll be writing a proper review on the SRB board, in order to get myself back into the music writing mindset, but I'll keep it short here: this is a bloody incredible album.
Cheers,
Pat

Thanks, giving the streaming a listen now. Pre-ordered a copy from MM!

BS, won't stream in the US...says it's not available. Guess I'll be waiting til the CD arrives. Damn!

It also doesn't work with Macs because MTV uses Window Media DRM.
