i don't think he's going to be on the canadian sirius...and even though i don't like stern, i think it's bullshit that the CRTC is trying, or have succeeded in having him blocked in canada...i could go on for days about how the CRTC pisses me off

Guess what Mick, so did Seinfeld, Friends, The Simpsons, Family Guy and just about every other great comedy show of our time. In regards to the Church It's kinda hard to defend them...especially the one you're referring to...even the strongly devout can't argue with that.....Now, without turning this into a Fatwa I will say that Howard Stern was a pioneer, like him or lump him. Think of every hometown radio comedian and the schtick that they pull on a daily basis...if they tell you that they don't have Howard Stern to thank for making that possible they are complete hipocrites.

EDIT: I've been watching the live feed of Howard's Party from Yahoo music and Cheryl Crow is playing his party....oh my god...SHE CAN'T SING. I'm not sure if she's sick or what the deal is but damn she sounds brutal....she looks good, but she sounds brutal.

the difference between stern, and the simpsons/seinfeld..etc..is that they did it in an intellectual way, and still with some heart...stern is an overrated asshole propaganda machine...

No one person interviews celebs like howard does. When you see a celeb on like regis or cathy or oprah its all about "So tell us about your hometown, funny past story", bullshit (talk about the same boring format)
when their on stern the questions are more like " So, you ever sleep with another girl?"
Now it might be the same format on his show as well, put he asks questions to celebs like we ask questions to our best buddies we havent seen in a while. He asks the questions that males 18-35 want to know the answers too. And becasue of that and other reasons he is the number 1 rated radio show of all time and the number revenue earning radio show of all time.
The CRTC are screwing themselves out of money and alot of it like i said before. I can go rent porno off my cable/satellite that may have gangbang scenes but if i want to listen to pam anderson tell a story of one then thats wrong??????

I'm not going to get into whether I am a fan of Stern or not. All I'll say is who wants to know these answers? All the guests have to do is decline an answer. Do I care who Jason Alexander lost his virginity to? Or how much Norm Macdonald gambles? Or whether Pam Anderson likes anal sex?? What's the difference? It's all Jerry Springer type stuff. I guess you can tell I'm not his biggest fan.

Personally, I think he is a class act. If you have listened to the last few weeks you can see how much his fans, fellow workmates, and friends care for him. There are Stern fans and non-Stern fans...can't we all get along? However you fall on the subject- you have to agree that the religeous right, neo-conservatist movement has put a big dent in the constitution...

Well...as I understand it he was available on Sirius Canada as of today. For those of you "in the loop" I have to say his shows on sat radio so far have been awesome. Exactly what he was meant to be like...uncensored. And for those who thought he would go right for the throat...it took almost a full month before he got a woman masturbating on a sybian...and still no boobies shown as far as I can reckon. He's pacing himself I know....
Now I'm sure some people hate him...but for those people I suggest you leave now without wasting your time...because those of us who love the guy cannot be swayed...sorry.... my soul is already on the crispy side.

I've been downloading his shows so far because i didnt get an US sub, and they have been freaking amazing. HOOOLLLY GEEEZZZZ! ( in my best george takai voice) The songs, guests, and stories have been so good, although i think that guy from train is a jerk for breaking up that couple... oh well the power of rock n roll
Im going to wait a couple weeks to make sure the CRTC (people whom take away free speech) dont pull him.
For all those whom dont like him...
Satellite is a pay service, so to listen you must buy the subscription and therefore know what your getting. If you pay for Sirius Canada, you can still BLOCK him or take his station right off the receiver all together.

Good point Gratts. Whether you like Stern or not, he has the right of free speech to do what he does. If in doing that he does something illegal, then nail his ass. Otherwise, free speech trumps all other arguments.
People who don't like Stern can of course complain and protest what he does, and they can do what I do... not listen to him.
