Oh..damn, Tired of Waiting..Now I remember..

You must have a very interesting sense of humour... too bad it doesn't translate very well over the internet... still speaks to how important direct contact with other people can be. Hmm... also interesting how I just made such a deep point from an innocent-looking post, no?
Anyway, here are my guesses (some will be very bad guesses, and others will look like just copying off the work of others, but oh well...)
1. The song "Tiger the Lion"
2. Bobcaygeon (I know it's right, I looked it up)
3. Tired of Waiting for You
4. I'm gonna guess, not enough Canadian references in the songs.
5. I would have thought something ridiculous like Seven Mary Three, but I could see how REM makes sense.
6. Moncton (sounds as good a guess as any).
7. Johnny?
8. Pretty sure it was Indiana
9. Paul & Gord S. (as Eric/emperor penguin proved)
10. Fireworks???

I don't understand how people can have other guesses for #5 after Problem Bear admitted they screwed up and that it
shouldnt say Rolling Stones headline, free point for everyone.
Anyway, that is interesting about Bobcaygeon, although it was my favorite song for awhile, I wouldn't have guessed it to be their only Juno-winning single.

I'm not sure you understand. I screwed up, not "them." You can still answer the MTV question, which, by the way, is the only question that hasn't been answered correctly at least once.
Cheers,
John

4) When Trouble at the Henhouse was released, some fans complained that there wasn't enough of something, prompting Downie to grumble that he didn't know there was a quota. What did the fans want more of?
5) A Rolling Stones headline infamously said you might like the Tragically Hip if you like which other band?
6) During the Phantom Power tour, a Canadian city, led by a local DJ, enticed The Hip to play in their town, though it had originally not been part of the tour. Which city?
7) According to GD, Coconut Cream grew out of a riff by which band member?
8) The Hip once played a U.S. concert with a crowd roughly as big as the band. In which state?

Very close, but no cigar (or cigarette dangling from Paul's lips). :thumb:
Now for that colour TV, all we need for confirmation is the name and number on each of your major credit cards. It's just boilerplate. The lawyers insisted.
Next Sunday, when I introduce Vol. 2, we'll be tripling the prize money! (Old Muppet Show joke.)

so when do we get the correct answers??
-
Problem Bear - 10-23-2005
I was going to wait until somebody got all 10 right, especially since it's so close. But if that doesn't happen, I'll always give the answers before the next quiz. So that would be next Sunday, or when somebody gets all 10 right, whichever comes first.
Cheers,

Rolling Stone the magazine, not The Rolling Stones the band. So to recap, MTV said you might like the Hip, if you like this certain band.

The answer to #5 is definitely Nickelback. I recall the nausea I encountered when I read the Headline 'Like Hockey? Nickleback? People that say 'aboot? Tragically Hip may rock you...
<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1455483/06282002/tragically_hip_the.jhtm">http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/145548 ... p_the.jhtm</a><!-- m -->
as for the answers, I'd say that Tthip is bang on, but I'd replace question number one with 'The Evening With Tour'...
