If by "power" you mean "the ability to alienate fans and negotiate themselves into deals that get worse by the second", then I agree with you 100%!

Easy dude!!!!!
Why is an honest socialist canuck supporting these fat cats and the ny yankees for Christsakes???

because my uncle was an NHL-er (and even played for your beloved Blackhawks) and you're bad mouthing a group of people when really you should be calling out individuals, and as far as the Yankees, my uncle was living in NY playing for the Islanders when i went to my first ball game at Yankee stadium with all of my uncles (one of them my godfather RIP), my older cousin Keith (closest i ever had to a sibling), and my Grandfather (RIP), the Yankees kicked some major ass, and i was just in awe of Yankee stadium and the energy of the crowd.

Perhaps you are right. Guys like Stan Mikita, Keith Magnussen, Steve Yzerman, and Denis Savard (would include Gretsky has he not sold out like a tramp and left the Oilers for the Kings) are (were) all stand up individuals. Who is your uncle??

Awesome man!
He played for the admirals too??? I've been to a few admirals games at the Bradley center. I bet I've seen your uncle play. Shit. He played for the hawks in a hell of an era! Graham, Larmer, Savard, Doug Wilson, etc.!!!

i think the fans should pelt jr with eggs wherever he plays when it starts up again....what a pompous prick :rambo:

The Darkest Canuck - 06-28-2005
maybe if they pelted him with enough eggs the Leafs could beat him and the Flyers !

All players aren't schmucks but the majority of them probably fit the bill. I don't know all the players so I can't comment honestly on all of them. The only thing I'm sure of is no pro athlete is a hero or idol of mine and I don't have any respect for pro hockey players, including the Great One, Mario, Sakic, Yzerman and all the other so called "great people". I don't hate them as people because I'd probably be a prick if I had millions of dollars too. lol. I don't think I would but you have to expect arrogance from these guys. The trained their whole lives to play a sport. I used to go to school with TB Lightning's Mr. Richards but the few times I've seen him on the island since he's been in the NHL he has ignored me so there ya go.
BTW, JR is about the biggest pussy in the NHL so for him to say something like that to sound like a tough guy is just plain funny.
