X-Files 2: The Script Is Out There

Duchovny, in the course of talking up his new Showtime series Californication, also wound up discussing infestation, mutation and alien invasion — that is, the status of the always-looming second X-Files movie. "I'm supposed to see a script next week," the erstwhile Agent Mulder revealed at the TCA summer press tour. "[X-Files creator] Chris [Carter] will direct it. Gillian [Anderson] is on board, and that's all I can tell you."

The original film follow-up hit theaters some nine years ago. What say we kill two birds with one stone, merge two TV franchises, and call the movie "X and the City"?

I loved the X-Files BUT why bother with another film if it's not part of the alien story arch? Have we really waited a decade to see Sculley and Mulder chase monsters around beautiful downtown Vancouver?

Personally I grew tired of the alien conspiracy arc during the show's last couple of seasons, so I'm happy that the new movie will be a stand-alone story. I'm looking forward to it.

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. It appears that Lance Henrikson recently appeared at a UK convention and gave a really coy answer to a fan's question regarding a potential appearance in a certain sequel to a certain movie about a certain pair of FBI agents who investigate certain FILES... I love answers like the one Henrikson gave. They make it really fun to be a fan and start the speculation really churning!

Just got back from Collectormania in Manchester UK, and was in the question/ answer show with Lance Henrikson, first off can I say what a gentleman this guy is, he has been one of my favourite actors from Bishop to Frank Black. Anyway he was asked if he would be in the next XFiles movie with the cross over storyline from Millenium and he said he wasnt allowed to talk about it at the moment but he would leave it up to us to decide what that statement meant!!
