Hold on there Sparky...they put on one of the best live shows around...Shaun Verault(sp?) is just one of those natural talents. I don't think they're together still, but who knows.

Yeah, WMM are great, it is sad to see them sort of fading into obscurity. Plus, he's a big hip fan as far as I can tell, I saw him at Gord's solo show at Malkin Bowl, and at the vancouver club gig.

Yup. Demand was so high for the U2 show, that they had no choice but to add a second. I was pretty choked about missing the Wilco show a couple years back. I was still living in Ottawa at the time and for some odd reason Calgary and Winnipeg were Wilco's only Canadian dates during that stretch of their tour. Springsteen played here a couple years ago as well, which was great.

I remember when Calgary used to get the shaft all the time when it came to concerts. The big bands would always play Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal, and they actually called that a "Canadian tour". If you were a fan of live music it was extremely annoying. I don't know how much money I spent travelling back and forth between Calgary and Vancouver attending concerts, but man, it was a lot. Metallica and Garth Brooks played here a lot (as did the Hip of course), but that was pretty much it. However, over the past few years as the city has creeped up on 1 million people, we've been getting bigger shows like U2, R.E.M. and the Boss. It seems promoters are working a little harder to bring these acts here because the demand is certainly there. I think it's great for the city. I won't be the least bit surprised if U2 played here again.

WMM are indeed, kick-ass live. i saw them on Canada Day in Edmonton a few years back, they solid, it was sooooooooo cool to hear My Old Self, i love that song.

U2 Postpone World Tour

Family illness pushes back "Bomb" trek



U2 have postponed their much-anticipated tour behind How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb, originally scheduled to kick off March 1st in Miami. "All of the plans are in total flux," a source close to the band told Rolling Stone, citing a family illness as the reason for the change. Tour dates were to be announced and go on sale this month, but those plans have been delayed.
The band, which is nominated for three Grammys for the single "Vertigo," still intends to play the February 13th awards ceremony in Los Angeles and to attend its induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame on March 14th in New York. However, a new timeline for the tour has not been set.

According to longtime tour designer Willie Williams, the tour's stage and video screens are in the process of being built. "We are developing some new technologies to deliver visual content," he told Rolling Stone.

U2's last world tour, in support of All That You Can't Leave Behind, made them the top-grossing act of 2001.
