so its now 2-0 Canada and i'm quite impressed

(btw i've heard 2 hip songs during the game so far.....quite impressed)

This is by far one of the best hockey tournaments in the world! Incredibly skilled players and the emotion and energy of teenagers playing the greatest sport in the world! If you're a hockey fan, you can't help but be pumped up about the World Juniors! :thumb: :jump

A friendly good luck to our American friends... but I don't think you will repeat your gold medal performance from last year. This is Canada's deepest team in years. 12 returning players, loads of skill on the forwards line, and maybe the best defence Canada has ever iced. The goalies are a bit of an unknown, but I'm sure they will come through very strong. I foresee a GOLDEN finish for Canada in this tournament!!

By the way, those mustard yellow unis have really grown on me... they are VERY cool! 8)

He annoys me. I wish there were a broadcast other than TSN so I didn't have to listen to him. Damn Don Cherry wannabe. :x

i am soooooooooo with you on that one.

(as i have stated before reConfusedearch pierre mcguire)
he is one of the few people that i dont know, that even if i saw him, i'd punch him in the face!

i just dont know why TSN hasnt caught on yet

so it ended up being a 6-0 CANADA romp. slow start for the boys, but a very impressive showing nonetheless. Crosby was incredible out there (as always) as were his linemates, and Captain Richards was great too. if they can play this well throughout the rest of the tourney, and tighten up just a wee bit on defense, they'll cruise to a gold medal for sure. what a great night, saw my grandpa at the hospital, and found out he'll be released either tomorrow or the next day, and home for Christmas, Canada romped Finland, and my beloved Dolphins defied all odds and did the impossible, they beat the reigning Superbowl Champion New England Patriots, AMEN TO THAT! much thanks to the big man up above, i'll be sure to spread some extra holiday cheer and donate to charity tomorrow and for the rest of the holiday season Smile.

Maybe I'm just weird (and it wouldn't be the first time I've been called that!), but I think McGuire is fun to listen to. He's a breath of fresh air compared to many colour analysts, and his passion for the sport, especially when played the right way, is impressive and infectious.

I await your attacks... er, I mean, comments.

Good news for you all around. Even though we rarely see eye-to-eye, or keyboard-to-keyboard, glad to hear that your grandpa will be out in time for Christmas. :thumb:

I remember the year the Cowboys went 1-15. It was an awful year, but I was happy that the one win came against those evil Washington Redskins. I imagine that's how Dolphin fans feel tonight (at least the ones who still admit to being Dolphins fans).

thanks for the kind words. y'know, with all the terrible things going on in the world it's quite foolish to think that we waste so much time and effort on being spiteful, oh well, here's to a more peaceful world (and hipbase) in 05! Merry Christmas from Miami, and to all a good night! ho! ho! ho!

Confusedcratch: Uhh...Slow start? What game were you watching? Canada was all over them from start to Finnish (yuk yuk!). The score could have been 12-0 easily, what with 3-4 goal posts and the Finnish goalie putting on a clinic in the first half of the game.

Looks like a very impressive squad this year. Canada should win the gold.

So you're his only fan? He gave his email out last night during the game. I hope his inbox is full of email stating just how big a jackass he really is. If his nose was any farther up Crosby's ass he'd be considered a siamese twin. Calling him made up adjectives such as "Petr Forsbergian". I like Crosby and hope he's successful when he steps up to the NHL, but McGuire, give me a friggin' break. He's no breath of fresh air unless you work in a pig shit factory all day.

does anyone actually plan on watching all of todays canada/swiss game?

i found that i bore from hockey when the goal differential is more than 10!

- The Darkest Canuck - 12-21-2004

i believe the game is tomorrow...

and yes, slow start, we almost got scored on in the first few minutes on that breakaway, we're lucky that the shot hit the cross-bar, because the first goal would've definately given the Finnish team a good jumpstart and the momentum (not to mention quiet the rowdy sellout crowd a bit).
