...interesting tune. Not too sure about it, it will take a couple of listens, liek the rest of IBE. I am just happy to be enjoying new hip in December :thumb: .

is there any frigin' way of me getting this song without donating a bloody dollar to another thriving asshole company...

and if i do succumb to their shit because i want to hear the song am i going to be able to listen to it in any program other than itunes ?? or better still can this format be ripped to mp3 or something making availible for "illegal" download at some point in the near future..

hip's damn management would rather promote ipods then give hipclub memebers a listen to a few unreleased tracks... though this sort of thing doesn't often bother me it's kinda getting to me this time maybe because it's only availible (it seems) in a certain format for a certain program with a certain company and so on.

anyway, if nothing else this post was kind of cathartic... here's hoping for a shoking comeback by the hip club or an EP with unreleased IBE tunes or something

Please do not post it on the Hip BT Tracker. It will be removed, and the user banned. That is a blatant disregard for the band, the law, etc...

The site is for sharing music from the public domain, not any copyrighted material.

Why is Apple a "thriving asshole company"?

...And why is paying $1 for a Hip B-Side so terrible?

I buy new releases from a record store. I like to get the CD, booklet, etc. Then, I can covert the CD to whatever format I want, listen to it in my car, on my iPod, or on my laptop.

For me, Apple's iTunes music store offers tracks from my favorite artists that are not available on other releases. Live tracks, B-Sides, I can buy one song from a Compilation.

Why is this so bad?

How can you not want to support the Hip's music by paying a $1 for a cool B-Side that we may otherwise never see or hear?

Are we so used to getting stuff for Free that we can imagine paying for a track from your favorite band?

I've been looking forward to the Canadian version of the iTunes store because I was HOPING that the Hip would release some of their rare tracks... and I'm interested in sampling some Canadian artists that I would never hear on the radio here in the States.

...and as for 'pre-selling' Scar and Summer... Bands have ALWAYS done this. 'Back in the day', it would be a single of the song that you could purchase before the full album was released. If you liked the band or the tune, you could - or could not buy that single, then you could - or could not buy the full album when it was released. It's not different now that it's electronic.

However, now, it's easy to steal the single electronically. Obviously a lot easier than going to the local record shop and putting the single in your pocket and walking out of the store without getting caught.

As I stated when Scar and Summer were released electronically - DO NOT upload them to my FTP.

Go to the iTunes store and check it out.

Support the Hip's music by paying for their commercially released tunes, and enjoy the fact that they let us record their shows and freely trade them and download them from places like the Hundredth and the Hip Tracker.

Very good point guys. I bought the song before I posted about putting it on the tracker. The song freaking rocks and I suggest all hip fans support the band and buy it. The $1 is well worth the 2:44 song of rockingness.

$1 guys, seiously it's not going to break your bank.

It would make the total price of IBE a whopping..... wait for it......$15 oh dear god no...

Besides you can listen to it on 5 computers total, which is way better than most other companies give you....it is an awesome song, and maybe the support for this will have the hip release more of their b-sides and such, all of which I would be more than willing to find that dollar to buy.....

Like I said, I wasn't complaining. Having two tracks weeks before the album came out was well worth the $1.98 to me, just as Life is For Getting is well worth the 99 cents. My point was that it seems like the previous management group was into giving stuff away (such as the three unreleased IVL tracks that were posted for Hip Club members), while this new management group doesn't appear to share the same philosophy. Again, not a complaint - just an observation.

The Hip could release their individual voicemail greetings to the sound of one note on a keyboard and I'd still gladly pay 99 cents for it.

A little info about song usage:

Thursday's launch gave users access to over 700,000 tracks including some songs exclusive to the program. Once purchased, users can play songs on up to five personal computers, burn a single song onto CDs an unlimited number of times, burn the same playlist up to seven times and listen to the music on an unlimited number of IPods.

What's the file extension of the new song? I have a cool utility that allows me to convert iTunes files (*.m4p) to regular MP3. I am in the States though so I am unable to buy the song anyway.
