That piece comes off as an honest account of time spent between Downie and a reporter who has no particular fondness for his work (the use of 'bleats' to describe his singing on INOIB is revealing, I think) nor any real understanding of it. She is punching the clock. He probably is too. The result, as usual in entertainment 'journalism,' is a waste of time for all concerned; but then, it's probably hard to be truly incisive with the Aspers hovering over your shoulder and censoring your every utterance lest it offend their politics.
