Funny you use baseball teams in your analogy. I was watching something on TV the other night, just flipping through the channels. There was a graphic up with Kerry with the Bo Sox logo and Bush with the Astros logo. They were proposing that who won the series, if it was Houston and Boston, that maybe it would predict the winner in the elections!
and totally off topic. I would have liked to have seen Houston play the Sox just so Roger would have to pitch in Fenway again

Apparently Kerry isn't pulling away at all anymore. It's nearly even, but as always, Bush is slightly ahead.
I wish we could place bets on this stuff because Bush is going to win and gaining an extra hundred bucks might make me feel less angry on Wednesday morning when I find out it's another four years of the same.

I think Bush is going to pull it out, but there wont be a winner declared for least three weeks as the results are battled out in court.

I think Bush will win around 280 Electoral votes, Kerry will probably win the popular vote (with his strong support in California, New York and Pennsylvania) and we will have a court fight if there have to be recounts like in the 2000 election (which if i remember correctly automatically kick in if the margin of victory is 1 percent or less, depending on the state's rules)

Maybe we can get statewide recounts this time...not just recounts in areas that leaned towards the Democrats the first time around.

I'll never understand why the Dems refused to do that in the last presidential election. I suspect they only concentrated on those 4 southern florida counties for precisely that reason, grooveless. If memory serves, there were 3 northern florida counties up in the panhandle area that had reports of problems with the punch cards and the Democrats fought to exclude them from the recount because they were Republican leaning counties. This election is seeing alot of the same thing with the provisional ballots :roll:

Is there at least going to be paper records from e-voting terminals? I never heard how they worked those out...

I dont believe so, a Florida state judge said that the records kept by the machines themselves was adequate under Florida law. I have to say I think the Dems are making a big amount of hoopla over this because they arent the ones in charge in Florida. Nobody in the national media really questions the mail in ballot process in Oregon, despite allegations about partisan organizations(both Dem and Repub) that are offering to deliver ballots or registrations for voters and destroying the ones that are not affliated with their party. With e-balloting in Florida, the machines keep an electronic record of ballots and tallies that can be accessed by the election commission and is backed up/saved on another computer with access restricted to the elections commission.

I'll give you a hint. Bush makes me laugh, but it's a very light laugh because more than anything else, he makes me VERY nervous.
