In my opinion, I think this is the best song of the three that have been released so far. Scar as a song is great, catchy, but I've always felt The Hip took bigger chances with their first single, I.E. Good Life. Summer is a bit of a write off, a decent song no doubt, but I think we're all a little puzzled as to where that came from as a second single. And then, almost unannounced, we hear about Heaven...and when you all hear the song, you'll agree, it's a positive direction. It's these songs that don't get much recognition from the masses that are always their best. Hope you all enjoy Heaven....also, everyone notice the first lyric, "Here's a Glue Guy"....wasn't Glue Guy on the list of songs that were played at Canucks songs oh so long ago?

YEp for sure a lot like REM. To be honest I hate that!
Not that REM is a bad band, but I really don't like how it sounds so much like them. I never understood how people compared REM to the Hip but Wow..no wait is this REM? The songs not bad. But right now it is my least favorite. I'm sure tomorrow I will love it and feel like a moron for even saying any of this. But o well!
I have to say thanks to Jenna for the song to! :thumb:

awesome song! I don't really get an REM vibe from it, but I definately (and my brother too) got a punkish kinda vibe. Still tho, it's instantly catchy and likeable... kinda makes me wonder why they didn't release this in place of SIKU which took many listens to get into... oh well.. it rocks!

- longseason - 06-03-2004

The opening lick sounds a bit REM-ish, but where y'all claim this sounds like REM -- I just don't follow! This tune is awesome.

Kasper's done good things. I love these sounds.

- ron - 06-03-2004

uh i don't know maybe because the opening is like rem and the singing style is michael stipe

Yep. After hearing this and SKU, I think this will be the bands "punk" album. It's certainly a unique style of punk though, "Downie Punk" maybe... it kinda emerged on Gord's solo album.

For all you punk fans, you'll finally have something to add to "Fire in the hole" on your Hip Punk Compilation.
