Thats exactly it. Canadian content is an obligation for MuchMusic... Any Canadian content they play is garbage, by my standards, and they only play it because of the regulations. When I turn on the radio, I hear a fair disperal of Canadian talent. Obviously there is going to be a good porportion of Avril, Nickleback, and Sum, but my fave radio station plays The Hip once every two-three hours. The only show I watch on Much is So 90's...

I think muchmusic still knows how big the hip are, evidence is the turnout to the I&I.

But that was FOUR years ago! when IVL came out, there was like a ten minute interview with Paul and Rob and they plays Weaken like once. I never saw the Silver Jet vid until I DOWNLOADED it!

I think the only time Much showed Chancellor was in the warm-up to Gord's solo I&I with tCoM. It's such a peaceful, melodic song, and the video is so simple but strikingly beautiful. It amazes me they didn't try to make a hit out of it! I remember Pascal's Submarine was EVERYWHERE - on the countdowns on both MM and MMM; on the request shows; and in regular rotation. Chancellor should have gotten that kind of attention.

Nobody's mentioned that they don't really play VIDEOS ANYMORE! They were good in the 80's and early 90's, but otherwise, fuggetaboutit
