take a look at the 2 Who shows at the acc. those shows are a year away. is the promoter worried that so many seats are open right now? NOPE !
you cant compare the who to the hip
the fact they can barely sell the acc is a bad sign
i wasnt comparing the two bands. that would be silly
i was saying that both bands have shows at the acc that are far enough in the future that stating anything with regards to ticket sales now is futile at this point in time. IMO
come a few days before the hip show i am willing to bet that 85% of the tickets will be sold.

Anyone see the email/Facebook post today? Hilarious. Due to popular demand you've released more tickets? More like due to very little demand, we are reminding you that great seats are still available.

Yep, I checked out the Victoria show availability; still floor seats for sale. I'm curious to see how full the show will be.

it was the best email ever
popular demand?
I think next email is going to say due to no demand we will cancelling the following shows
with a full refund
why don't they just stick to selling 95 dollar t shirts
and charging $90 to ship 1 $20 bottle of wine
bunch of hacks cant even sell out !
Seriously if they are this desperate for cash
why don't they just release some material from their vault
I would pay a couple hundred to get the following shows in SBD
All another roadside attraction
MLG 95
MLG 96 both shows
ACC 97
and any show before 2000
whoever is running this band is an idiot

Yup, I'd say that about sums it up. Hopefully the Hip's management will finally learn their lesson and start booking the band in smaller venues where they belong, and charging a more reasonable price for tickets. I paid $45 to see Sam Roberts at the Jubilee Auditorium in Calgary a week ago, and it was worth every f'n penny. $142 to see screamo Gord and the Hip at a half-empty Saddledome? No thanks. Maybe back in 2000, but certainly not now.

Same story on the east coast. 100$ for a casino show, no thanks. I'd consider that in a theatre show

Ha, as expected I received an email from Groupon today for the Winnipeg show. The $70 tickets are on for $45. These arenas are going to be 50% empty.

Yeah, but just checked ACC... Only single seats available on the lower level. Looking for 4 seats together puts you in the 10th row of the upper deck, side stage. That's pretty damn good, and I can't imagine many bands being disappointed with those kind of ticket sales.

Moncton sold out almost immediately.
