Okay, listening now. What the hell were they thinking with those synth strings popping up at the end of Man Machine Poem? haha. Not against synth strings per se, but those were just super cheesy and out of place. Oh well, good song otherwise.

I hate the 2nd half of this. Outside of Goodnight Attawapiskat that is.

A common response to leaks. I'll want a copy for my mp3 player anyway, so meh.

Is that Julie Doiron with Gord in Now for Plan A you think?

First listen and I really like it...a lot more than WATS for me...

On first listen I like this album more than anything since IVL. But that is just an initial impression

Somebody mentioned Sarah Harmer earlier.

So far, I'm feeling "meh"...but I gotta let it digest a bit...just not really feeling some of gords vocals...the lyrics are fine, but the vocal delivery seems a little overwhelming at times...

It seems clear to me that Gord Downie wanted to really belt out the vocals on this one. There seems to be a conscious effort from him to stretch his vocals to their limit on this one. I'm about halfway through and it definitely is not and rollicking rock record, but I have liked what I've heard so far. It sounds new and kind of exciting. Good to hear studio versions of some of the songs that sound better than a recording from a digital cam at a concert. This record is a Gord vocal record at the core.

Some of his vocals are over the top but I like it. Gord's vocals are carrying the album so far based on what I've heard. It's a really laid back album halfway through.

Is it just me, or does Take Forever have kind of an "Up to Here" vibe? It's just got that feel to it: basic 4/4 up-tempo bar rock tune. Gavin Brown's more stripped-down production is a huge bonus as well. You can just feel the energy jumping out of the speakers.

I look forward to listening to it.

At Transformation is not a weak track.

Done and Done is easily the weakest track upon my first listen. At Transformation is one of the stronger songs right now for me.

Take Forever sounds a bit like Cheap Trick to me.

I think the album could have used at least one or two memorable guitar solos.
