Perhaps you're right.... but the picture was to illustrate my point. The fact that it is funny was purely coincidental.
I am sure he is on something 'harder' than weed, I guess I'm not up on drug references, and used stoned to represent "on drugs" in general, not just MJ.
So, with all this being said, does anyone have any suggestions as to what to do?

He needs therapy for sure. The problem will be to convince him he needs it.........good luck guys!

If it was myself, I would give an ultimatum!
If he doesn't straiten up (which he probably won't) tell him that you and your "good" roommate will move out and find a place of your own together!
I know you should haven't to be the one's to leave, but it does avoid a lot of confrontation! I hate confrontation and I will avoid it at any cost.
This maybe the easiest way to go about it! That way you don't have to tell him to GET THE FU.K OUT!!!
You know?

Hmmm I dont know. Confrontation does seem the best way to go about things but I wonder whether it's gonna have the desired effect. His attitude as described by D-man gives me the impression he thinks there's nothing wrong with his behaviour. I know its a cliché but you can only help people who want to be helped.
Have you guys actually sat down with him and really talked to him about his behaviour and the effects it has on you? I suppose if you haven't yet, you should. He will then either understand where you guys are coming from and accordingly attempt to change his behaviour OR he'll pretend like nothing's wrong, like everything's under control and you guys don't know what you're talking about. In that case, an ultimatum might be the only way to go about things. He changes or you guys leave.
On the other hand I can imagine that it might be hard leaving a friend behind knowing he's facing a drug problem though.. even more so when its your brother.
I say you guys talk to him and take it from there. Good luck :thumb:

The problem with the whole thing is that he has no time for anybody or anything. He gets home here long after we're asleep, then sleeps until after we've left for work. It's a weird situation to be in, because he's my brother and I like him and all, but I still don't like his attitude. It's like Radiohead said, you do it to yourself.

It's almost impossible to help someone who's using (hard) drugs.
From what I read the guy passed the stadium of using secretly. That means he's very very much into it. Confronting him with his behaviour won't help anymore.. You'll get promises he's not able to keep. The only way to get clean again is going into special treatment. It's hard, very hard, but it's the only way.

Fuck him
We all make choices.
He is certainley old enough to make his own choices.
If your an addict, get your shit together!
I have friends that do the same shit, and they will never get any sympathy from me. If you end up fucked up or even worse die, tough luck......you made those choices.
Sounds harsh, well it is.
Tell him to get his shit together, or fuck off!

This problem has been getting worse, much worse, lately. He comes homes stoned out of his mind and does stupid stuff. This morning I woke up and found him passed out naked on the couch, curled up in the fetal position and shivering.
![[Image: fetal.jpg]](http://members.rogers.com/hip-fan/fetal.jpg)
Then I went into the kitchen and found where he had taken a piss in one of the cupboards.
So far he has pissed in the fridge, the bathroom vanity, and now a kitchen cupboard.
Please help. What should i do? The guy is 26, college grad, and is a chef a a swanky Toronto restaurant.
Any thoughts?
thanks,
chris

I still have it. I haven't seen him in years. He's a chef or some sort out in the Rockies.
What's with you digging up all these old threads?

i just wondered cause it was quite a story if it was a happy or sad ending..

I lost touch with him. His brother used to be a regular reader/poster here at the 'base - and that was my only connection to what he was up to... but he moved to Ottawa and I haven't heard from him lately.

I have to say Chris, waking up next to a naked woman is a hell of a lot better than waking up to that picture!
