It's official... Hugh has signed a multi-album record deal with Warner Music Canada. The first album will be his debut solo album Works Well With Others, scheduled to be released this Fall. A full track listing and release date will be announced later this summer. Stay tuned.

FINALLY!

Re: The Hugh Dillon Redemption Choir - Graham - 06-27-2009

I was beginning to think he wouldn't do anything till he was finished and done with Flashpoint.

He's also doing Durham County - season two starts in a couple weeks.

Jeebus he's a busy man. I thought Durham County ran it's course? Had no idea there was a second season coming.

Between Flashpoint and Durham County is this going to be a strait up release with no touring on the horizon, I wonder? Durham County is also a one-hour show, I would imagine that takes significantly more time to shoot.

Durham County is a fantastic show. I rented the first season a few weeks ago and was instantly hooked. It's a gritty, well acted, well written, beautifully shot Canadian mystery/suspense/drama that can actually compete with American shows of the same ilk. Dillion is awesome in the lead role. For anybody here who hasn't seen it, I highly recommend checking it out.

Re: The Hugh Dillon Redemption Choir - GBV - 07-03-2009

there was a headline in the t.o. sun regarding hugh's upcoming album and the headline was something like Flashpoint Star Sings Too.

as a headstones fan, that jerked a tear to my eye.

Here's a cool interview with Hugh:

Hugh's new album is finally being released on Oct. 13th!

http://www.hughdillon.com

I looked at the tracklisting, and I gotta say I'm a little disappointed that they changed it around. Half the new album is now made up of songs from his previous effort, The High Cost of Low Living. Here's the original tracklist that was announced a few months ago:

Friends of Mine
Reel to Reel
Bottom of a Dream
Lucky Man
Perpetual State
Ignore That Call
Compromises
Sail Away
Towing The Party Line
Laughlines
Final Analysis
Sorrytown (from Durham County)
Puzzle I Am (from Durham County)
That's What I Get for Listening

And here's the updated/finished tracklist that will appear on the official album:

Friends of Mine
Sentimental Me
Well On Your Way
Ten Feet Tall
Surface of the Sun
Reel to Reel
Lucky
Lost At Sea
Radio Plays
Bottom Of A Dream
My Mistakes
Ignore That Call
Puzzle I Am
Don’t Be Fooled

So there are only 7 acutal new songs on the record, which is kind of a bummer if you ask me. That being said, I'm still looking forward to hearing it and I'll definitely be buying a copy. Here's the video for the first single "Friends of Mine":

Re: The Hugh Dillon Redemption Choir - BulletRiddled - 09-28-2009

That's dumb. It looks like one of those "greatest hits" albums that have a few new tracks sprinkled on, expect in this case, the band in question only has one album.

I think I read that MAv was at a video shoot for Hugh Dillon this past weekend - a second video already?

Re: The Hugh Dillon Redemption Choir - Lizard King - 09-28-2009

He's doing an interview on cbc Q this wednesday, just a heads up for you fans.

Re: The Hugh Dillon Redemption Choir - IBC - 09-28-2009

as a massive headstones fan it hurts me to hear that song ... just seems to be lacking the aggression that existed and hooked me into the headstones. Sad

Hugh is 46 years old. Like most people, he's mellowed with age. He's no longer the angry young man he was in the Headstones, and his outlook on things is probably a bit different than it was back then. And like any good artist, his music has changed and evolved as a result. If you're looking for the younger, angry/aggressive Hugh, I'm afraid you'll just have to stick with "Picture of Health" or "Teeth & Tissue". That being said, Hugh has never ruled out a Headstones reunion, and he kind of hinted that it could possibly happen in an interview a few months ago. So you never know.

+1...and, for me, i'm not even sure i'd say it's cuz the lack of "aggression"...but, yeah, very much a head-scratcher.
