Yeah, I agree with that. I can't imagine the last show being in Kingston was a coincidence, and the CBC stepping in to broadcast gives it even more of a farewell vibe. I just have that feeling in my bones that this is the last hurrah, as sad as that is to even think about.

I think the chances of this happening are better than average, but who knows? Warren Zevon was still writing and recording right up until his death, as was Bowie and Cash. Gord is an artist, and I wouldn't be surprised if he wanted to get whatever is in his head down on tape before his health deteriorates further.

I agree - how will that come out -solo, band, book of poetry, fiction...?
I believe we will hear from him in one form or another before the illness takes over

I think it's safe to say we'd all be happy with whatever he'd want to do. Would I love another Hip album? You bet. But another solo record, or even a short EP or book of poetry would be an amazing gift as well. Goddamn, this is all just so fucking sad.

Decent article. And it mentions an unreleased Downie solo album

Cool piece about what it's like to tour with the Hip, with stories and memories from various bands.

All i can say is Victoria was epic, and if this truly is their farewell, it was amazing! I will post more details in the review section tomorrow but I couldn't wait to post something. Their fans across the country are in for a treat!

Same here, at first last night I got super excited then I came crashing down once the reality of it all kicked in. This isn't just another tour, its probably the last tour.

the man has incurable brain cancer
Id be absolutely amazed, given the CBC treatment and final show in their hometown, if any shows were added or any other touring was physically possible...
There are no miracle cures, despite the internet voodoo magic claims

this IS the last tour
Brain cancer..really?? I never heard that.
They never once said it was the last time they would ever play live, we all know they probably wont but no one is saying it.
thanks for the heads up though.

Well, I think they are wise to play this without any final tour comments and Gord would never want that kind of attention drawn towards it anyway - he just wants to play shows like he always has - and hes really been quite incredible through all this - this tour is a true gift to himself, the band and the nation
That said, this disease is brutal and this will be the last Tragically Hip tour

Well, apologies, not wanting to upset you...you are very angry
Anyway, Gord was impressive last night - he is a marvel to watch and as the tour nears its end, it will truly be a poignant farewell - Kingston is goong to be quite the memorable night of music. I really hope they release that show ...
