There are always extra tickets to every show.
Promoters, friends, Family.
Say if this theatre holds 1200 - and they hold 200 back for perks, season ticket holders, record company, MAv, theatre owners girlfriend that will tell the wife unless she gets to go to The Hip show.
Just like for playoffs, visiting teams allotment doesn't get used so they get ruturned to the arena to be used/resold whatever.
Well, you get the idea.

I figured they wouldn't do stuff like that for a fan club show in a theatre that hold 1200. I guess I'm to idealistic lol.

The quick answer was ' Maybe'

The gentlemen I spoke with said that they have several names, numbers of people that were 'screwed' by their system. As of this morning they are still awaiting a reply from the concert promoter... there is a chance that the promoter will release more tickets to the event and then TicketMaster will call those on the list first... and offer them the ducats.

Before you say it - I know we are grasping at straws here.... but thought I'd update you all on what TicketMaster just told me...

Let's keep our fingers crossed !!

Until then.....

For every event the band/management/venue/promoter/etc are allocated some tickets. If they are not claimed, they are generally released on the day of the show.

As well, certain seats are held until stage rigging, speakers, etc are decided on - and then released if they don't need the space.

Anybody in the Buffalo/Rochester area need a ride to the show? I'll be getting out of work in downtown Buffalo around 4 and I'm willing to give a ride where needed. Only catch is, I'm planning on staying the night coz i don't want to drive after the show. PM if interested.

Any plans for Hipbase meetups/pre show parties?

I'm going to Allen's with a buddy o' mine beforehand. Look at this http://www.allens.to/allens/beer.shtml !!!!!
It is apparently right beside the Music Hall and is a very old school tavern - me likey! :jump

If anyone is interested in smoking cigarettes outside before the show, let me know via pm. I dont like smoking cigarettes alone, and would rather talk about hip fans while smoking cigarettes. Cigarettes.

There is a 100% chance we will be outside smoking cigarettes. Cigarettes before the show, cigarettes at intermission (I hope), and cigarettes after the show. Cigarettes. *sigh*

Cigarettes....killing even those of us who should know better - since the 16th century

Careful... Allens has gone upscale. My other suggestions: Dora Keogh (Irish pub) right beside Allens, Black Swan (across the road), or Willow at 193 Danforth.

Really looking forward to tomorrow night, 8th row and especially because it's my fiancee's first Hip concert! This concert will make me think back of my first Hip show at the Masonic Temple a long time ago in a very sweaty July (in the 90's!)

I recently saw a show at the Danforth Music Hall.. we are in for a treat... It is a very old hall that only holds like 1000 or so and the architecture is cool.

Food wise, you are basically in Greek Town! I am taking the fiancee out for greek food and wine before hand... there are LOTS of great places to eat around the Music Hall... Allen's is great but can be pricey but has one of the coolest bars ever... my buddy was there one night and ended up drinking with Keith Richards (imagine trying to keep up to him!)

BTW, WOTS is really growing on me, kinda like how U2's NLOTH has been as well...

I like all of WOTS but really really am liking Now The Struggle Has A Name, The Depression Suite and The Exact Feeling. It's all good though. The production value is high and I love the background vocals and strings on some songs! Really nice change.

See you guys tomorrow night, I think we are in for a real treat. Wonder if they will be filming it at all?

Damn.

Is that MH policy? Or is it just likely the case for this particular show?

Some places allow ins/outs anytime, others during intermissions only, and some none at all. I was hoping MH might allow ins/outs for intermissions, but of course have no friggin clue....

Probably just this show, what with the needing to be the person that purchased the tickets to get the tickets and stuff, I think they want to discourage people from leaving at the beginning of the show and selling their ticket to someone waiting on the road.(?)

Most theatres will give you an outside smoking area to get your fix.
Not always during the entire show but at least intermissions.
I can't remember one that hasn't - but I also have not smoked cigarettes for awhile.
Are the 2 of you hitting this show?
