That's awesome news, I was starting to think it had gone the way of Chinese Democracy.

Here's a snippet from the article:

Quote:CTV.ca: If this show is a success south of the border, are you prepared to experience a newfound popularity?

Dillon: I have a fair bit of notoriety from playing in a rock band, so I could care less, you know what I mean? That's not why I do this. If anything, playing in a rock band and having gold records earlier in my life prepared me for this. So, it's nothing new, it's nothing unique... it's just a bigger scale.

CTV.ca: Do you think you'll leave your music career behind?

Dillon: Music is what I'm naturally drawn to -- I've always, since high school, written songs. I had songs on "Durham County" and I'll have songs on this show.

I've also got a record coming out in August called "Hugh Dillon Works Well With Others" and Paul Langlois from the Tragically Hip produced it. I've always been a fan of the Hip, and to have Paul Langlois produce my record is amazing.

To not have a major company behind me and to still write and record my songs at this point is amazing. These days with the record industry, I feel like I'm watching Rome burn -- I feel like I was fortunate to get out while I did.

CTV.ca: Do you think you'll ever reunite the Headstones?

Dillon: Probably at some point. I'll put it this way... if the Sex Pistols did it, why wouldn't we?

Re: The Hugh Dillon Redemption Choir - direwolf74 - 08-12-2008

Weird. Here we are in August and I haven't heard a peep about this album yet. It looks like Hugh's website hasn't been updated in a while, so perhaps they'll let us know soon about the actual release date. If it's really coming out this month, then we don't have long to wait. Woohoo!!!

Re: The Hugh Dillon Redemption Choir - Tthip - 08-22-2008

This article still states no release date.
But Dillon's "Lost at Sea," written and recorded for "Flashpoint," will appear in the show's eighth episode, "Never Kissed a Girl."

Re: The Hugh Dillon Redemption Choir - Bootlegger420 - 08-24-2008

As far As i know the HDRC are no longer a band......Hugh sent out a message on the HDRc website stating hed give out copies of the 2nd disc to who ever emailed him within the 3 days of his posts, I emailed and promtly recieved a copy of the SEcond disc "Works Well With Others" It's a great disc, but requires alot of material from a member who is rumored to have left the band due to family reasons. So with that I'll keep you all posted on the OFFICIAL RELEASE of this disc...if it ever happens.

Holy crap, really? Any chance you could post the link to Hugh's post? Their forum seems to have disappeared. I'd love to hear this album, and if we're still within the three day window I'm going to e-mail Hugh right away to get myself a copy.

That's so freakin' cool. Ever since Hard Core Logo I've always thought Hugh had great presence as an actor, and it certainly looks like his career is taking off thanks to Durham County and Flashpoint. Good on him! If only he could find a way to put out his new album. Oh, and speaking of Hard Core Logo, check this out:

Re: The Hugh Dillon Redemption Choir - GBV - 09-01-2008

i'm not one for nostalgic reunion bullsshit (among my favourite bands, the recent roth/vh one was horrific and i'd prefer pavement never reunited but i reckon i'm in the minority) but the headstones is one i'd be in favour of. heavy.

It's official... Hugh has signed a multi-album record deal with Warner Music Canada. The first album will be his debut solo album Works Well With Others, scheduled to be released this Fall. A full track listing and release date will be announced later this summer. Stay tuned.
