Well, lets see... you only quoted a portion of my original comment which was a question for others to respond too, as I provided my own thoughts on the comparison several weeks ago. Really, that is taking a quote out of context. Besides that, it was more of a general statement on your posting habits from time to time, and your provocative methods of discussion. You were the one who felt the need to make the Raycroft/Gerber "flop" comparison. With Gerber crapping the bed on a nightly basis, I was curious to know if you were still thinking comparing the two was valid. Sorry for continuing an NHL discussion on the NHL discussion thread. You re-directed the question that I asked you (well, the 'base), towards me for absolutely no reason based on my original response, while omitting what I had actually contributed as part of my discussion. It is out of context, and as far as I can tell was done for the sole purpose of irritancy, capitalized by yet another Senators loss. If you had quoted me properly, and then replied with something relatively reasonable (which most people have no probem doing) like, "Yeah, I suppose that Gerber is indeed the bigger flop, and his terrible play has certainly played a large role in the demise of the Senators", I couldn't have cared less.

It is funny how I "felt the need to make the comparison", while you are sarcastically apologizing for "continuing an NHL discussion", as if somehow my comments aren't as warranted as yours are. You come across as a condescending prick sometimes (and I don't know for sure that you are). Any discussion on this board is done by somebody who "felt the need" to comment; referring to it in that manner is inherently shallow. And the ol' "Uh, OK" is just as immature as the 'rolly eyes' emoticon. Nobody here does that, and it belongs on a teenage chat forum.

Most certainly I have blown this out of proportion, but I do know that you like your discussion with a side of conflict, and I'm just doing my best to contribute.

which team's been the biggest (positive and negative) surprise IYO (in your opinion) so far this season?

I'd say the Thrashers! they're finally living up to their name!

i'm also surprised at the great starts that the Leafs and Penguins have gotten out to! I expceted the Leafs to be a bout the same as they were last year, but they're looking much better, and while i did expcect the Penguins to be vastly improved, i didn't quite expect them to keep pace with the Rangers and Devils...

and the flops:

Obviously, Ottawa are stinkin it up...and the Avalanche, i think they're probably gonna be on the outside lookin in come playoff time...for the first time since when? have they even missed the playoffs since moving from Quebec City?

Brodeur is an all time great goalie but he hasn't played great this season either. He has 3 shutouts but he's also had some horrible games. Brodeur has underperformed this season as far as I'm concerned. I don't think he's old enough yet for people to have lower expectations for him. Sure, I expect a little decline as he gets older but he got off to a horrific start this season.

It's not that Raycroft has been bad. In fact, he's been everything the Leafs expected IMO. He hasn't been a disappointment at all. I just wouldn't call him a great goalie. Maybe instead of decent, I'll bump him up to good.

Martin Biron is 6-0 this season with a 3.30 GAA and .886 SV%. I wouldn't say he has performed great this season but the man is undefeated with 6 wins.

hahahahahahahaha...Theo was good in Montreal, but looking back, am I ever glad they traded him! Montreal would be screwed if they hadn't...Abby and Huet are probably the best goaltending tandom in the league!

They arent even the best goaltending tandem in the NorthEast Division.
