So does anyone know if we're getting the disc a day early if we go to the Cineplex show? Or will it be a coupon for it or something of that nature?

I went to my local Cineplex to purchase my tickets, and they told me to hang on to my stub, because they'll be handing out the cds after the show

Will be a fun night! We'll be able to watch 'Live and Intimate' and then drive around for the rest of the evening listening to 'We are the Same'. Sweet.

What's with the sense of entitlement? Just vote with your wallet and don't go. What would you expect the band to do, put an event like this on for everybody at their cost? For the diehards? My first show was in 92, so do I deserve a discount?
Supplementing their revenues with events perceived to be in demand is just smart business and good marketing.
I remember there was a time when we as community were dying for the band to embrace events of this nature. Now were criticizing the band for charging fair value?
Twenty-five dollars for admission and a CD is a pretty good deal, methinks. 12.50 for the disc and 12.50 for admission to the Cineplex. Okay by me.
My only hope is that the Silver City Oakville will host the show in their VIP section — wherein they serve beer. That'd be sweet.
Ah, a sweet dose of sanity. I don't think the prices are that bad, and don't really understand what people (not everybody I know) are complaining about. With all of you purchasing (or at least attempting to) purchase the tickets on the interweb, has nobody thought to make the trek to the theater to purchase tickets from the box office. Are these prices being quoted by everybody the prices of the tickets or the prices of the tickets plus the convenience charges being put on by the theater for purchasing the tickets online.

I remember back when the Hip first started out...pre-internet...mass media days, they were hardly advertised. There was something refreshing about a great sound, and keeping the fans guessing by being somewhat elusive or reluctant to hammer people with promo stuff, and interviews,etc. In fact, the band has discussed this approach and explained their hesitation to be in the spotlight from fear of people getting sick of them. It seems we have gone to the other side of the spectrum these days. And is that because the product maybe isn't as good as it once was? Is it a management approach, or just the way things are these days with some many different forms of communication?
The 12.50/12.50 way of looking at things is reasonable. And I would like to go. Im going to see if the service charge is different at the theatre. Hey who knows maybe they will play cemetary sideroad during the intimate evening in Bath. They probably will invite all those hard workers from the Lafarge Plant to come over and enjoy some music as well.

um, I stated that I went directly to the theatre and bought my tickets
a ticket (w/cd) was $25.25
(edit: I'm not bitching about the price, just informing others)

I was told the same (bought it at the box office): Watch the show, get the CD with the ticket on the way out.
Price isn't bad considering we get the album a day early.
Let's just hope there's some killer music and it's done well with the surround speakers. I hope its not 50% or more interviews, that can be done on tv.

I tried purchasing online, but the cineplex way of purchasing was so retarded and user-unfriendly that I gave up.
Went to the theatre. Stood in line for a few minutes around noon, and got my ticket. Thing is, theatres on fridays are open earlier because they start showing movies at noon. You can get there nice and early and everything is cool. Comes out to 25 bucks with the CD to be handed out after the show. And, zero frustration of a poorly designed online purchasing system. It's worse than Ticketbastard, why even bother. If Ticketbastard was as bad as cineplex, I'd be going to the bloody box office.

I'm crossing the international border from Detroit, MI. to Windsor, ON. to see this event and get the new CD a few hours earlier than most fans. I was unable to purchase the event tickets and CD through the Cineplex website because the purchase can't be made with a US credit card.
I spent extra time, money and gas to cross the border and purchase the tickets at the theater today. (I didn't want to be shut out the day of the show). The cost difference between the stated price on the hip.com and the actual price at the theater is added government taxes. In Ontario the prices are $24.10 (event only) and $25.25 (event + CD). As stated earlier, retain your ticket stub that states you purchased a CD and the CD will be given to you as you leave the theater.

I live in the U.S. and i bought the tickets from cineplex.com. Used my US visa debit card. Of course i had to alter my address a bit but it still went through. I'm going to the cornwall showing.
