This is the only thread where I've seen Built To Spill mentioned, so I'll mention them again.... Perfect from Now on has been kicking my ass lately as has their latest, You in Reverse. I can't believe I've been missing out on these guys, they're phenomenal.
Another album that's been kicking my ass lately is Okonokos by My Morning Jacket. These guys are fucking incredible. What I wouldn't give to catch a live show of thiers.

Wolfmother - Wolfmother: Great old school rock with a touch of the White Stripes.
The Answer - Rise: Another up and coming rock band, essential for fans of led Zep or Free.
Dirty Pretty Things - Waterloo To Anywhere: Shows who was the truly talented Libertine.
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Stadium Arcadium: Wowe, the Chili's finally produce what they're capable of!
The Kooks - Inside In, Inside Out: Great summery vibe to this album.

are you for real? i saw them open for pearl jam back in may and they were fucking awful. that was the longest 45 minutes of my life.

i saw them open for Pearl Jam - while im a bit of a noob to them as well; the stuff from Z that they played seemed alot better. And Mark, i loved my morning jacked - the ACC couldnt really deal with the high treble stuff, but looking past that, the songs were good.

Im on an IVL binge lately, I think its cause I saw 6 or 7 shows the summer it came out, so I think I assciate the album with summertime. Just like Day for Night and PP have that winter vibe to them, maybe thats just me.

Serious as a heart attack. Sorry to hear you didn't like the show.
It took me awhile to get into these guys but now that I have, they're very, very close to being my favorite band at the moment. I got into them through their latest "z" and went backwards form thier. Jim James has an incredible voice, I can't believe anyone wouldn't love these guys after giving a couple of listens to one of thier EP's called "Acoustic Cituoca".

Checked out Peeping Tom, Mike Patton's newest project and I gotta say, pretty damned cool. Very cool with a definate Faith no more vibe to it.
Also, Danko Jones, Sleep is the Enemy. Why isn't this band get more respect, they sure do rock.
Also, I still can't get enough of Tool's 10,000 days. Can't wait till they pull through Calgary,

Lamb of God - Ashes of the Wake (really looking forward to Sacrament being released in August)
Bobnoxious - Two Fisted Twisted Rock 'n' Roll (saw them open for the Trews and they made a fan out of me with their live show)
Slayer - Seasons in the Abyss (it had been a while since I listened to this one all the way through... after seeing them again live I had to pull it out again)
Metallica - Live Metallica recording from Donnington '06 (has probably the best version of "The New Song")
That's pretty much what I've been listening to lately, other than rough recordings from my band (we've been trying to get the recording levels set for recording our jam sessions in the basement.)
