How about a half price Pay Per View for those of us with big screen tvs at home and digital cable.
So far Burlington is the closest to me. At about 45 mins away it seems a little excessive for me. Id like to be able to buy it on pay per view for half price with no cd or full price with the cd delivered.
I mean a theater is a great idea but its kinda far to go and if a lot of others feel the same they might get a low turnout and think it was a failure and not do it again. Or even think that their popularity has fallen drastically. Both conclusions could be wrong. Only a pay per view would truly tell a better view on how many people are " interested "

Why is only the falls link working? This is just stupid. The shows listed on thehip.com don't even match up with Cineplex.com.

The site has been changing all day and last night too. I firmly believe it is not fully updated and "on sale" yet, aside from some being able to purchase it. I'm sure once it is done the price will lower too.

I agree a pay per view event would have been an amazing idea..I would have paid for that... stay at home make some nachos have a couple glasses of wine...no need for a babysitter..perfect!! Its not worth it for me to travel out of town to check this out....but I would really like to see this show!!!

Some theatres have a 10:00 showing...I'm guessing that's a replay of the Live event?

Uhhhh Lots of lost revenue!!!!!! Lets see , I have seen them live 11 times and going to 3 shows in April.
I bought all their stuff on LP plus CD then I even bought all the CD's they put out with the HyperCD option with all the videos in them, ( then that company stopped working and you can not watch the videos ) Needless to say I bought all those Cds 2 times then after that Lets see I got Heksenketle, Hipponaunamus box set, Lots of concert Tshirts and other items.
Now im gonna get the new album also and a few other things probably, gonna go to 3 shows, I bought 8 tickets in total for Kitchener shows. I think they really should beam this show to me for free actaully. hehehhehe or at least invite me back stage. :jump

What are the chances someone is going to secretly record this show in the theatre anyway?? I think I will buy myself a new tragically hip hoody instead and skip this one!! Will there be any new tshirts, hoodys, and hats coming out with the release of this CD (I am looking forward to that)???

Lost revenue? The poor guys. I feel for them. I'm sure Baker and his family have been regulars every Friday @ the food bank in Kingston? Just keep puttin the screws to us guys...it's not like the diehards haven't given you twenty years of business or anything like that. I'm sure that I've invested close to ten thousand dollars over the years on Hip shows, merchandise, etc. I see Kingston isn't soldout. I find that interesting. I hope Downie can put in a private boat launch for him and the kids this summer. Just don't be swimming in the Lafarge direction Gord....they don't really like you too much.

What's with the sense of entitlement? Just vote with your wallet and don't go. What would you expect the band to do, put an event like this on for everybody at their cost? For the diehards? My first show was in 92, so do I deserve a discount?
Supplementing their revenues with events perceived to be in demand is just smart business and good marketing.
I remember there was a time when we as community were dying for the band to embrace events of this nature. Now were criticizing the band for charging fair value?
Twenty-five dollars for admission and a CD is a pretty good deal, methinks. 12.50 for the disc and 12.50 for admission to the Cineplex. Okay by me.
My only hope is that the Silver City Oakville will host the show in their VIP section — wherein they serve beer. That'd be sweet.
