i wouldnt blame "conks" for the loss either, it was roloson in net while the team blew a 3-0 lead.
and cam ward won that game on those 2 massive saves

Gangrel - 06-06-2006
Ya, but from what i remember, there was only really one goal Rollie could have had a chance on, that one stick side... (I think the last one the Canes scored on him?)
I could be mistaken tho, as I'm bummed out today. I hate Conks, but I'm prepared to put my faith in him if he's getting the start.
It's not over, but I just hope the Oil get their 60 minute legs back, instead of the 40 minute ones they used last night!

The Darkest Canuck - 06-06-2006
last night really reminded me of game 1 against Detroit, and IMO, the loss to Detroit to start the playoffs was a more of a heartbreaker than the one last night, and we all know how the Detroit series turned out...
-
tth_fan - 06-06-2006
...ya. Roloson stole the show
-
The Darkest Canuck - 06-06-2006
lol! that is true, but no one person is bigger/more important than the rest of the team, hopefully the Oilers can use the loss of Roloson as a rallying point 'know, "let's not only do this for ourselves, but for Roloson, who's done absolute everything in his power for us"...
they just need to tighten up on Defense IMO, Roloson wasn't even that great last night, and they still almost won the game...

I'm with opiated in saying that the loss wasn't Conklin's fault and I blame Jason "hands of stone" Smith as much as Conklin, if not more, for the winning goal. Roloson had a bad game but he's still better than both his backups so this will be a huge test for the Oilers. Hopefully for them, they can just outscore Carolina.
What more can you say about Pronger? Why he wasn't nominated for the Norris is a darn shame. He had a great year and was a huge part of Edmonton making the playoffs and if the Oilers win the Cup he's the Conn Smythe winner. He's a friggin great player and the people who were writing him off after his subpar Olympic performance (playing with a broken foot didn't help) are just ignorant to his greatness as a player.
How many chances does Ryan Smyth need before he can actually hit the net?
How many near open nets does Horcoff need before he can put one in?
-
Douglas - 06-06-2006
I really think that loss should be on Ryan Smyths shoulders. Think about it. 2 on 1 with the score 3-0. He scores its 4-0 going into the 3rd. Instead he flubs a pass into Hedican, puck goes up ice and The Bod slams it home. He had alot of other chances in that game and just didn't come through. Stupid Brind'amour. My buddy has ticks for game 3. I told him to wear an old Lindros jersey and then get his girlfriend to wear a jersey that says Brind'amours wife on it. Hope he gets on TV.
Here's my prediction. Roloson starts game 3. When have you heard anybody be so specific about an injury so quickly after a game, in the playoffs yet? Its a big ploy. The Oil will be down 2-0 in the series, they will hit the ice in Edmonton, Roloson will be announced as the starter, the place goes bananas and the Oil win the next 4 and win in 6. Mark my words.

Out of the blue?!? That's a good one! This coming from the guy who can't stop rehashing my old posts. This coming from the guy who sends me PMs saying:
I thought we were getting along somewhat. This from the guy who worries about how much time I spend here, but
hides his own status.
Out of the blue. Poor, poor tommygunn. I think you need to get the nurse to up the dosage of whatever it is you are on. :thumb:

Yep,
out of the blue... totally unrelated to anything I posted. Al Strachan?? Very bizarre.

But I suppose we should all be used to your
extremely irrational posting by now.
By the way, if my posts bother you so much simply put me on 'ignore' (for real this time instead of just saying you are) and save everyone from having to see your
continual whining and bitching. Well, at least until you find someone else to bitch and argue with.. which usually isn't too long of a wait.
