Haven't you seen the video for Ahead by a Century? MuchMoreMusic still plays the crap out of it. I've actually seen it twice this week.

I had a thought whilst driving home...would n't be a fun project to create a "rip-epotomous" and made a disk with the best live versions of the 35 songs on the greatist hits package?
I might get started

I think you mean "Ripeponymous", and yes, that would be an awesome idea.

Nope, I don't really watch a lot of tv.

Fantastic idea. What do you think of the name "Liveponymous"
Fans could vote on their favourite version of each song, in the spirit of the process for the official release.......
Just realized Fiddler's Green wouldn't be available...Maybe substitute with Get Back Again....

This sounds so great... I can´t wait. But no one´s mentioned regions (unless I missed it); I suppose it´s just gonna be released as a region 1?

Just curious.

Well, my best examples would be the reissue of the Cure albums that has been going on for the last year. On those, some of their older stuff sounded very analog, meaning tape hiss, and sorta scratchy background noise.
On the reissues, that's all gone, leaving only the music to be heard.
Now, as for which is better is a matter of great debate. I'm only getting the Cure CDs because they each come with a bonus CD of rarities..... (and Carnage Visors on CD!)
But I"m kinda partial to the lo-fi sound.....

I so rarely visit the site unless MAv or someone else here mentions it, that I hadn't noticed... but now that you mention it, I do find it odd that it isn't posted there. MAv has alluded to a new site being in the works, so maybe that has something to do with it.

I searched for the greatest hits package on amazon and check out this link.
<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.amazon.ca/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000ARKUSK/qid=1123696480/sr=1-38/ref=sr_1_2_38/702-7661869-0160825">http://www.amazon.ca/exec/obidos/ASIN/B ... 69-0160825</a><!-- m -->
$61.99 for the package. That's a hefty price but I'm sure it'll still be worth it. I'm so curious to know how the whole thing will be packaged together.

That $60 mark seems to be the going rate for best of/box sets and it's defintely going to be worth it for me.

Ouch! that is a bit steep, I would have thought 40 bucks or so, oh well, looks like a cool set.

A bit steep? did you forget what the package includes? I think 61 is a good price.
