Ok so the least favorite opener was a little negative, so what is everyone's favorite opening band???
Mine is a tie between Sam Roberts and The Watchmen.

the skydome show, although kind of a one off thing had OLP and BNL, two great acts IMO. The watchmen I really liked, Im going to see Danny Greaves new band Doctor tonight in London they're doing a free concert with Thornley, cant wait!! I was pretty drunk but I recall Hayden doing a great set in Toronto for the Y2K show. :thumb:

Based on the other thread I just read talking about New Years, I'm going to have to say The Weakerthans.
But... since that show hasn't happened yet.... I'll go with Sam Roberts. The only opener for the Hip that I've ever seen actually win fans over. My second place goes to The Watchmen.
Oh... and Guster too... but I wasn't into Guster when they actually opened for the Hip... but I am now.

I have to agree with several of you that it is The Watchmen. They are an awesome band to see live. It does suck that they are no longer together. Oh well, c'est la vie.

believe it or not, after they opened for the hip i bought a "by divine right" cd. i liked them too... maybe not better than the rheos or mr. roberts and his band but they had that song about 5 bucks... with the donut in the sky in the video and them in their pyjamas or something... it was kinda catchy.
