First new album of original material in 5 years, coming out on Oct. 20th. Produced by Michael Timmins. The first single and title track was inspired by Downie's Secret Path, which Josh Finlayson had a copy of long before it was released. The video just came out today. Great song!

From their press release:

Quote:In a time of confusion, anger and division, the Skydiggers’ 9th studio album, Warmth of the Sun, arrives as an eloquent and vital plea for compassion, honesty, healing and reckoning with the truth, rendered in the group’s classic folk-rock style. A quarter of a century after their formation, the roots rock veterans are continuing to create and inspire with their unique blend of Canadiana.
The Skydiggers cover the Hip's "The Rock" on the album, as they did so excellently did on Strombo's Hip tribute show.

Nice! Haven't seen the track listing yet, so I wasn't aware. That's awesome.
Another fantastic song from the upcoming album. Great singing from Andy.

Finally had a chance to spin this album a couple times earlier this evening, and it's fantastic. Might be the best thing they've done since Road Radio. I don't think I realized how much I needed a new Skydiggers album until now. With all the sadness over this past week (including the death of a close family friend), there's just something beautifully comforting about these guys. Their cover of "The Rock" is absolutely gorgeous. I think I might actually prefer it to the Hip's version.

Thanks for this. I'm going to buy it right now!
