during a radio interview yesterday before the Toronto show, Sinclair said they'd be back in the Maritimes later in the summer/fall...
By the end of the U.S. tour the hip will have been on the road for almost an entire year... how long until they take a bit of a (or a long ass) break?
I'm just waiting for them to come to montreal again....would they really do a tour without covering a huge venue in montreal?

I think you should check out the tour dates of the arena tour that they just did for your answer Smile .
I hear from a pretty reliable source that Darien Lake is a go for the summer, don't know when though.

Excellent news.
Summer just isnt summer without a Hip show! Big Grin They'll be back!
One rumour going around Ottawa is that the organizers of the Hope Beach volleyball tournament (the largest in the world) are trying to get the hip to play. That would be July 14 if they can pull it off. The tournament is a charity event which may entice the boys.
One rumour I would like to hear, is that the Hip will be at the Ottawa Bluesfest (the second biggest in North America). The venue has changed, but it is still downtown-ish, and they haven't been there in two plus years...

I find it extremely unlikely that the Hip would play Hope... it really is a great time every year, don't get me wrong, but it is far too small, and it is generally far too early...
Al Gore is putting together a giant benefit July 16th to raise consciousness about global warming. Some of the biggest bands in the world will be playing. I expect we will hear about The Tragically Hip joining the roster any day now.

I don't think that will be anywhere near as sucessful as Live 8...
...Also, The Hip aren't too fond of Sheryl Crow, but I'm not sure whether or not that would influence their decision to join a bill or not

What is the story behind this?
What does this mean? I don't think I have ever heard anything about this.

Was Gord serious about that? I remember him saying something during the promotional tour for WC to some radio host about Sheryl Crow ruining the mood at ARA or something.
