I am looking to escape from windows, I have been introduced to linux os through one of the courses I am taking. However, after looking into it there are so many different versions, looking for help picking the right version for my desktop. I have 2 hardrives and will probably move XP to the smaller of the two and run with two opperating systems, but hoping to move to a linux system as my primary os. Any help would be great, thanks.

Give this a try. Debian is rock solid and the install is very easy (from what I have read..)
