My lady and I just started a new web business. What is the general protocol for posting links to such a thing? When is it considered spam?

I'd say this is a little different, that thread was created by someone who joined that day and that was his first post. This is someone who has been involved in the Hip community before hipbase existed, I used to visit Rory's site.
