Hey everyone,
I started compiling and editing today for a "Best Of 2006" compilation. I want you guys to weigh and tell me what versions of songs / what songs should appear on it, as I don't want it to be just my opinion as to what is the Best of 2006.
Send me a PM on what tracks you think should make the cut. I can't wait to here from everyone.
Also... should I edit the tracks so they flow into eachother and sound somewhat like one concert?
I'm always partial to the moments this year when Gord stopped singing and let the crowd take over, which happened once or twice during almost every show this year, right? I know it happened during Grace, too from Pheonix Night 4 and I remember people saying it happened during the Belleville show (maybe during Long Time Running?) but I've only heard bootlegs of the shows I went to.
Obviously the return of 38 Years Old was a big enough deal that it should be included in your best of, so I would suggest the version from Fort York night 2 (wasn't that the show it re-appeared at?).
As well, the crowd's roar during the "That Night in Toronto" lyric to Bobcaygeon from the 4th Pheonix show still gives me chills everytime I hear it.
I'd like to see as much as possible from Calgary night 1, which I was at, it's probably a foregone conclusion that Fiddler's Green is making that cut.
Springtime that night was awesome, and was right berore (I think), so those might work as a pair.
Also from the Belleville show I'd like to hear Something On...during his introduction to the song he started talking about envy at which point some guy from the crowd yells to him "fu*k off"...without missing a beat he quips back with a funny little retort and then they kick into the song. I'm pretty sure there's a youtube clip around here somewhere of it...but I think it is worthy of being on your "best of" compilation.

"Did you say, 'fuck you'? Well I won't envy you when I get through with you!" (Johnny throws in a rimshot..)
LTR from Belleville is a must for the closer...
The Chagrin Falls- "teleprompter version" in Vancouver was hilarious, and in a way that only Gord can do it, artistic. I think it deserves a spot.
Okay guys... what do you guys think about a Three Disc compilation? So much awesomeness can't be captivated on Two Discs... but three is more plausible. It seems I probably won't be able to get in 20 songs on each disc... unless I go overtime, which is fine for listening to stuff on computers and iPods...so... let me know what you guys think.
Or maybe even three seperate "Volumes"?
And thanks for all the suggestions! Keep 'em coming!

I only put Poets from this show on YouTube; not LTR or Something On.
