Ford once calculated that a human life was worth $10,000 or less when they chose not to recall the Pinto. Customer Service is a cost of doing business. Can we come up with a list of the best and worst companies/corporations out there in terms of their customer service. Which companies realize that things look good on paper but human decency and logic weigh in? Which busineses on the other hand are shisters and rip people off like there's no tomorrow? I find some places do everything they can- to do "damage control" when one of their loyal customers is discouraged but some basically tell you to go to Hell...

My Best: most hotels/restaurantes, E-Bay, Pepsi, CN Tower, and Midus.

Worst: Minto (evil), Canadian Tire, Bell, Rogers, car insurance companies.

Jury still out: Disney, Nike, the Ontario Lottery and Game Commission...

Best: Future Shop (they always seem to have a lot of staff on hand)

Worst: Home Depot (terrible customer service, and they don't care)
TicketMaster (why all the service charges!!?)
Has anyone ever gotten a reply from Bell Mobility or Canada Post? Don't ever pay to have your mail forwarded. It's a scam. Canada Post takes your money and sends your bills to your old address.

i have found the exact opposite, actually. Future shop has terrible customer service, and an amount of caring that resembles hell in a handbasket; and home depo is awesome in customer service.
future shop sucks for service..however i find that Best Buy has amazing service, which is strange as they're owned by the same company...

BELL sucks...

I could not agree more
Airlines in general suck too...it seems as if 1 out of every 2 flights i am on has at least a 1 hour delay
The worst company I have ever dealt with - both personally and professionally - is TELUS. From their incredibly annoying IVR approach to customer service, to having to wait almost two months for them to hook up phones at our new office, to the incredible lack of professionalism exhibited by the people I've had to work with there, I find it amazing that they remain in business.

As for the best, I gotta say Research In Motion. Great company to work with, and I love my Crackberry.
I second Telus.
Terrible service.
Absolutley no reward for loyalty.
1st time customer bonuses, then they really make you pay.
Bell = Brutal

I actually had a call centre rep there tell me that they care more about getting new customer's than keeping existing ones and that it might be a good idea to switch to Rogers.....if only you could keep your number
I will repeat that the worst all-time I have had to deal with would be Future Shop and Telus can't stand either.

the best customer service I usually find at locally owned stores sometimes it costs me a couple of bucks extra but I think it is worth it.
Bell disconnected my phone ACCIDENTLY.

we had just switched to Sympatico, which i really dont mind that much; and our phone suddenly goes dead. So, we finally get a response from them THREE days after they were contacted and informed of the situation. It turns out that someone tripped over the wires at the local call centre; and neglected to plug ours back in
I'll second Rogers, they've pissed me off numerous times this year
It seems like most (if not all) communications companies suck.
For me, it's Bell (phone) and Cogeco (cable TV / internet).
Hydro 1= fine

Hydro Ottawa= Shisters!
I've had horrible Future shop experiences in the past, so I only buy CDs there.

Medicine Hat just got their first Starbucks, and that's just good coffee, despite being a bit slow. Let's also give Tim Horton's a nod as well for consistency, even though they jacked up the coffee prices last month, and I swear that the cups are smaller now.

I guess it's hard to make a BAD business when you sell coffee.
