inspired by the recent acoustic Foo Fighters tour/dvd/cd...

and by the Sausalito radio show (probably my favourite bootleg)...what are the chances of the hip doing this sometime...for at least a full length concert, if not, a whole (or mini) tour? they certainly have enough material to do make it work, and i definately think it's something that fans would enjoy, especially if it meant playing in smaller venues with better acoustics...

thoughts? comments? predictions? dream setlists?

You forgot the amazing acoustic version of Courage that was posted as a SotD a month or two ago!

I'd love to see an album of Hip songs reworked acoustically by The Hip.
...and that amazing semi-acoustic version of Sharks from the Horseshoe that was posted!
any idea if they will be acoustic at holiday jam....anyone.

Last year it was an "acoustic" event. And according to the ads for this years event it will be too.

From thehip.com:

HOLIDAY JAM
An Evening of Acoustic Music
Featuring
The Tragically Hip
Sarah Harmer, Sam Roberts,
Kathleen Edwards, Matt Mays & Buck 65
looks like my post was right on time then, haha...

and i didn't forget anything on my list, that's what I would like to see Tongue
...well. A 26 song set would be considered extremely rare these days! I'm not sure if Gord's voice would be able to handle that!
could divide it into two sets...or...two performances on consecutive nights...

i had to leave things off that list y'know  , Courage, A Beautiful Thing, The Luxury, Put It Off, Oh Honey, IAGLIYDW, Thompson Girl...

those were not easy to leave off the list!
oh... Fantasy setlists... how you've passed the time in many-a class.
lol! they rock, because, even though you know you aren't going to see it played, and it doesn't really matter, you still put them together like you're going to be hearing it the next night...i think about the end of the song, the noise of the crowd...what Gord might say in between songs...making sure that there's blance of heavy and lighter songs ...

it's so much more fun now that they're seemingly willing to play anything these days...
Its sad looking at my notebooks and seeing the random ass lists on spare pages that really don't make any sense to anyone else haha.
haha, i haven't gone that far, i've only made them online...
If you're ever bored in class, I suggest doing a few. Before you know it, everybody's up and leaving haha.

Wow. I'm a nerd.
I thought I heard on the radio that the New Years show was going to be acoustic.
